The show and manga does a great job showing the background of all the different boxers. And some of them reappear again. Pacing is also good because they don't need to stretch out episodes to match the manga releases
cant wait for ep 11!

One of the coolest things about this anime is its not just about ippo with the boxing matches. Everyone can have valid reasons for bettering themselves or wanting victory, and everyone can be talented in their own way
