The point of this random shit happening is to show off the mundaneness of their lives, make it a bit relatable like if a bunch of friends find out something really creepy and mysterious. Even though its a bit over the top 2010s/2000s anime trope.

I still can't believe I got my Dad to watch this with me years ago. It's like I didn't even realise how weird some of the shit in it was. I just knew he'd like the time travel story. He probably lost a lot of faith in me from this 😂😂
