Laws story is so good. What’s even crazier, is that the worst generation characters almost didn’t exist. Oda added them into the story at the last minute when he was making the halfway point in the story at Sabaody. Oda’s intent was to expand on the One Piece world and he used the worst generation to show how big and complex the world is. He even admitted that Law ended up playing a much more crucial role in the story than he originally intended. Also lowkey, his wife is a huge Law fan 😉

Before Dressrosa Law's backstory, there was Robin's backstory too. There was also Luffy's, Sabo's and Ace's backstory(the rich nobles burned the trash part of the city and the people there). So many dark backstories~ 😢 There's more to come in Dressrosa and the future arcs.

Law’s and Robin’s are probably the darkest ones so far….. but this is One Piece there are many more dark stories to come it will be darker than you guys can ever imagine😭

Law's backstory is easily one of the best and extremely close to reality as well, combining multiple historical tragedies caused by humans. Lead poisoning is real, and I think of asbestos too

One fucked up detail people often miss; when doffy shot law in front of the arena. The bullets were made from white lead. I love that oda put this detail in the fight between doffy and law, to make it even more clear how deep there beef is between the two. Congrats with the 700th episode

Btw Flevance is most likely based on Casale Monferrato, Italy. An asbestos-cement plant, Eternit, was essentially poisoning the town and people. They knew of the fatal dangers of asbestos but kept it hidden to protect their profits, thereby causing many deaths and health related issues to this day. Casale Monferrato also gained the name White Town because of the high amount of asbestos dust released by the plant that would cover the town.

IMO the best is still yet to come. OP has some of the darkest lore. The OP world really needs a change

During 2020 covid pandemic, we are in wano arc in the manga.. btw, this is not a spoiler by now since you know wano arc exist when i heard you in the podcast.. anyways. you'll see some character lines as a message to what was happening during the pandemic when there was speculations that the covid virus is intentional and not an accident..

Law is one of my all-time faves like truly. His backstory is truly tragic, I feel like Oda just feels like he has to one-up himself with each backstory like please sir...enough trauma...can't wait for next weekend! The story keeps unfolding and it gets even worse (better)!!!

I have a friend who skims through backstories and says let’s get back to the main story. I always say the back story is one of my favorite things in anime especially in one piece and Naruto. But eh people are wired different.
