The animation and direction does improve considerably in the recent arcs, with peaks that are on par with or even above some seasonal anime. But it's not as consistent as say TYBW for example, and ofc it still suffers from the usual pacing issues although that's been steadily improving lately as well

Yeah despite not being a huge fan of Ussop in general, when he does have his moment its great. Love the big reveal here that Ussop finally unlocks Observation Haki for the first time to save his captain and some random in the white hat 🥺🥺 I'll say W Go D. Ussop for this episode.

One Piece has the highest animation in future fights but its not as conistently good as bleach tybw. The peaks are better but because its ongoing it has it low moments.... however in the current arc with it being seasonal it is consistently peak.

You guys are correct Usopp unlocked his Observation Haki at the end when he sensed Luffy and Sugar presence. It allowed him to be more precise in calculating things Iike the distance, wind resistance, and trajectory he needed to reach Sugar . Like Marineford we’ve seen with Koby during the war one method in which Observation can be unconsciously awakened is in extremely stressful situations, which Usopp was also under in this moment.

INSANELY long scene but the observation haki awakening may even it out. Usopp cooked at the end there
