I am working on our new schedule now, and I am SO HYPED for the Live discussions with you guys every week! Plus the 3 new shows we are starting and also where we are at in the current shows! So good!
Listen i know people are upset because we are taking a week break. Especially since we just got back from our Japan trip. No matter what, this always happens. and honestly, I get it. We take off 4 weeks a year, and even though they are spread out by 3 months, it feels like its always happening. Time flies. We have done it now for a year, and will continue to do it.
I also get that some people miss announcements about it, or skip intros and outros where we remind people. Thats fair. Its not your job to read and listen to everything we say. We can try to improve on that even more moving forward.
The only think we care about however, is making sure we dont have straight negative people in here commenting and spreading negativity. Comparing us to other creators and bashing our work ethic/calling us lazy is not adding to anyone. Its not making us feel better or want to work harder. Its just negative and adding no value to anyone. Those Comments will be deleted.
Of course share thoughts, provide constructive feedback etc. That is always and has always been welcome here. And thats how we have evolved and improved over the last few years! But there is a difference between that and then calling us lazy and complaining. Sushi Squad is and always has been a dope place to vibe and watch dope shit together. While keeping the community positive.
And even if you may not see it because all you have are a few videos a day to judge us from, Michelle and I do work hard and put in a lot of effort to create this community and content. And that is not changing.

Hey guys. I'm sure you already know, but no matter what anyone in this world does, they won't be able to please everyone. Whether it's justified in someone's eyes or not, there will always be someone that complains or brings negatively. And it's hard to ignore that energy. Sometimes it just takes one person to make an effect. Just remember what you've built. This is your journey and you're free to do whatever you want. People have a choice to come along or not. It might just be as simple as that. So keep moving forward, and keep it real!

Hey question, I couldn’t find anywhere it’s been said (if stated at all) but are we picking up on One Piece on Sunday? I’m assuming yes since we didn’t get last Sundays post but i’m not sure ^-^
I thought so but I've just found the patreon post that mentions the week break, they wrote that the week would be from may 24th to may 30th and that they would be back on june 1st. A bit weird that they left may 31th out of the conversation but I guess they messed up somewhere and it should have been may 25th to may 31th ?... It's a bit of a bummer since we got stripped of 2 Sundays but it is what it is 😅

Hi guys, I'm happy that you guys are taking the break you deserve... but maybe put an official post about it? It is easily missed as the way you are doing it. Plus, it is a waste of money for people who renewed their subscription just as you are taking a break that we didn't know about. That's about 1 weeks worth of payment gone. Yes, it's not alot of money... but it's not about that. It's the choice of our commitment felt being wasted. Hope you guys can just take a minute to inform everyone about it officially. Looking forward to see your next reactions!
SO lemme address this...because this callout sounds like MY posts on the last video, and I see my comment has been deleted. Firstly, calling me negative and spreading negativity here, is a blatant lie. I expressed how I feel, and I did so in a respectful manner. The words I used were BLUNT, but not negative in any way, shape or form. Anyone can see that people came on here expecting to see the videos and im not saying that you didnt verbally say that you guys were gonna take a break...but it would be more appreciated by the community if you guys made an official post about it. It takes at most a few minutes, and everyone will be able to see it, even if they are a fresh, new subscriber to your patreon. This post you made above is simply telling me that no one here can, or is supposed to be critical of you. Are we just supposed to agree with you regadless of whatever it is because 5 dollars isnt alot of money? Are we just an echo chamber that should just keep our thoughts and feelings to ourselves? Now im just a hater spreading negativity in the community. Go figure... In the past, when you guys had issues I defended you, with the sub/dub dilemma, I was a staunch defender of u guys, and countless of other times because I do enjoy the reactions. Its why im here. But after this, I got your message loud and clear guys. Really, its not even that serious. It started to feel like family for a second there but going forward, ill just refrain from commenting altogether. When you guys finish One Piece, ill take my leave in silence.

Holy shit I’m I seeing this right Hajime no Ippo! I thought this day would never come with all the flashy new anime coming out. This anime more than DBZ back in the days makes me join Muay Thai. Keeps me fighting hard. Hell yeah. Ron dude you won’t regret watching this series. 💪

Really take your time off but i feel like deleting critical comments would be something yall lose trust for. Just go diplomatic and talk to people on how you feel. You always seem so authentic so its quite shocking to see you deleting comments that are not spoilers but literally critics(that some interpret as negativity because of low resilience). Do us a favor and dont change that lol.
I think he isn’t talking about deleting criticism, only purely toxic comments that add nothing. There’s a big difference. It’s not a matter of resilience, it’s just common sense. People asking for breaks to be better communicated, asking for earlier notice, or criticizing a decision while suggesting improvements is one thing. For example: “You could pin the announcement for people who don’t follow Discord or don’t watch the discussion/info part that isn’t anime-related.” Another thing is someone commenting something that isn’t criticism at all, but just a baseless attack driven only by hatred, with the sole intention of offending them. For example: “You’re lazy, you don’t do anything, and you still want to rest.” They’ve never deleted criticism, and they’ve always answered in videos or comments by explaining or justifying things. I don’t think they’re going to start now lol.

It's not as upsetting taking a break, as it is when reactors start "diversifying" what they watch. That means less of whatever else was already being watched. If nothing changes then it's no biggie, but when it does, just means having to unsubscribe and come back later to finish out a series.

Unfortunate Ippo will be solo I was looking forward to seeing both of yall reactions to it but it'll be a fun journey regardless, also I would recommend doing DB in sub not only cause it's more accurate/better but because eventually to watch it weekly you'll have to watch the sub anyway
they already stated it will be dubbed. and frankly as someone whos watched both I strongly disagree about it being better. We all have our opinions but I definitely think more people like the dub. Its one of the last times they actually auditioned for american anime roles rather than being assigned. I did prefer super over the dub though. but that was because of the soundtrack also love the hitman icon. very nice.

You both are definitely not lazy, and taking a mental health break is so important. I appreciate all you do. I've been a member of the Sushi Squad for about a year now and only wish I’d found your channel sooner. If you look at it through a psychological lens, the intense reaction to your break is actually a huge compliment to your smart channel design. By spacing out what I assume are your heavy-hitters in terms of engagement (Boruto, Bleach, and One Piece) across different days, you’ve intelligently created a highly engaging weekly routine for your viewers. When people are used to connecting with you at least four times a week (assuming most viewers watch at least two of the three heavy hitters), your content becomes a comforting psychological anchor. Breaking that cycle creates a temporary cognitive dissonance for your viewers. Because you are such a routine part of their week, a pause feels much more impactful. It just shows how successfully you've woven yourselves into our daily lives. So, although it is negative and rude, I would personally reframe the negativity about the pause as a positive indicator of the quality of your channel and the fact that your viewers want more of you both. Just a random comment.

Let them be upset. They’ll be okay. Both of you have already said multiple times that this was needed for you when this was introduced. I enjoy the banter between both of you before the reactions when Ron is being a goofball sometimes and when Michelle attempting to stop him sometimes lol. If the week break is what it takes for you guys to have that positive and playful synergy with each other, then I don’t mind it.

I've noticed that you guys use alot of energy engaging negativity (when its absolutely not warranted) i can only use an example from another really popular set of reactors i follow. (YaboyRoshi) they have this really cool thing where they dont engage it at all (or atleast very rarely and have mods engage it only) Most of these negatives are only looking for a reaction (ironic) but at the end of the day they're going stay subscribed just to post another negative comment down the road. And half the time they'll have forgotten what they were pitching about to begin with the next day. Yall should try not to let it bother you and brush them off and ignore them unless they're intersecting enough in the community to effect other patrons. I mean most of us understand how much time it takes to do all of this. It's not simply sitting down and watching shows. There's editing, communication and scheduling and filtering of content on MULTIPLE platforms. But they dont see that. The fact that you guys take the time to even Make as many posts about the haters says alot about your character. Keep being yall. Take your breaks. They can go outside and smell the flowers

Also Ron you view anime very similar to me and we both connect to the same things. Yall are dope. These haters or people who speak negatively are the sad part of our society who want instant gratification without knowing how things can be taxing. I work a job 50-60 hours a week and have outsiders constantly undervaluing my efforts because they don’t know the blood sweat and tears that’s really happening. I watch you guys a lot when I have down time at work and love what you guys do. I’m spreading positive vibes because I know negativity can be very taxing especially in the space.
