BLEACH TYBW EPISODES 24, 25, & 26 REACTION 🔥

So, the TYBW anime vastly expands on the manga here in these episodes. Literally, in the manga, Oh-Etsu literally one shots Juha Baha's Royal Guard (ok, he 2 shots Askin, or derpy Aizen lol), then Juha Baha uses the Auswhalen to resurrect his Royal Guard, then they one shot squad 0 (except for Osho). We never see Senjumaru's bankai in the manga (her bankai is awesome, here). This sequence was changed in the anime because Kubo didn't like what he did in the manga here and wanted to have a more even exchange in the anime. Nianzol's schrift is called "the wind" (not the natural weather phenomenon), like a winding staircase. Osho is the first, oldest, and most powerful shinigami. He's the one who sealed Juha Baha's creepy eyes away (Juha's true power). He did so with the help of the Soul King (Brook lol). The reason Squad 0 is so powerful is because the Soul King made them more powerful than normal shinigami. Their abilities didn't increase, they just got a huge power boost.

FYI, Giselle is a guy. Kubo confirmed this fact on Kubo Outside long ago; it's just thank ppl want to put in what they want in Kubo's work, and that's not how it goes. He's not trans or bi; he is a guy. End of discussion. He dresses and acts like that to stay around the Bambies.

You have heard of Squad 0 before. Back in the Turn Back the Pendulum mini-arc, Hiyori doesn't like Kisuke becoming her captain because she was very close to her older captain, "who got promoted". She even mentioned Kirio by name, but it's such a small detail that is very hard to miss.

There were production issues with cour 2 so the final episode was not completed. So rather than pulling a jjk and releasing an incomplete product they just ended it weirdly. The break between cour 2 and 3 was longer to make up for this and pierriot made a new studio called pierriot films purely for bleach tybw. Ep1 of cour 3 is the last episode made by pierriots main studio and is the completion of the final plus a full ep thats why its a bit longer. I almost think it wouldve been better to do a double drop and then double drop with finale and then cour 3 ep 1.

Squad zero was mentioned earlier. In the flashbacks from Urahara, we knew that he became captain of squad 12, after the previous captain was promoted to be a royal guard at the royal palace. She's Hikifune, the chef of squad zero :D

You guys seriously underestimate the Quincy Royal Guards and overestimate Squad Zero like they can just casually wipe them. The Schutzstaffel (Yhwach’s personal elite royal guard) were personally chosen by Yhwach for a reason. These aren’t regular Sternritter; they’re elite monsters capable of keeping up with Squad Zero level fighters. If they were weak, the Royal Palace battle would’ve ended instantly, but it didn’t. Also, people misunderstand what Squad Zero actually is. Not every member is automatically stronger than Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto. They were promoted mainly because they created something historically important to Soul Society, like the Zanpakutō or other major systems. Their status isn’t based only on raw power; If Squad Zero was based purely on raw power, Yamamoto would obviously be in it. Yamamoto himself was a completely different level. He was Head Captain for over 1,000 years and was feared by basically everyone. Sōsuke Aizen literally created Wonderweiss just to counter his flames instead of fighting him directly, and Yhwach also prepared countermeasures and stole his Bankai rather than facing him fairly. That alone tells you how dangerous he was. His Bankai, Zanka no Tachi, is easily one of the top 5 strongest Bankai in Bleach. Its heat reaches around 15 million degrees Celsius, basically comparable to the core of the sun. Just activating it was drying out Soul Society. Most characters can’t even survive being near him 1v1. The only reason Yamamoto lost to the fake Yhwach was because he got emotional and started flexing his power instead of ending the fight immediately. He wanted to completely overwhelm “Yhwach” instead of going straight for the kill, and that gave the real Yhwach the opening he needed. So no, Squad Zero isn’t automatically above Yamamoto individually. He’s still one of the most broken characters in Bleach history.

Huge comment section, most of what I wanted to say has already been said, but I'll just reiterate. Those Royal Guard Quincy you're seeing now are way stronger than the regular sternritters who were bullying the captains before. So them giving Squad 0 a hard time actually makes sense. That said, Squad 0 wasn't operating at full strength at all because they were all sealed except for Ichibe, until three of them had to kill themselves to release their powers. They picked Senjumaru because her bankai is best against multiple opponents. Kinda sad we didn't get to see the others, since they'd probably be just as broken.

It’s not like Squad zero gave senjumaru their powers. All their powers are sealed and for them to unlock the powers as mentioned in the episode 3 lives of the Squad need to be sacrificed. As she mentioned each of their powers can shake the 3 worlds.

Some things to mention that others may or may not talk about in the comments: - Yes, the first part of episode 24 is a flashback. Ichibe and Yuha talking about peace and some sort of ceasefire that Yuha clearly wasn't too happy about. Fighting Ichibe didn't work here, so Yuha let it be. During the fight we see lots of things we haven't seen before like Ichibe using his hand with eyeballs, then Yuha having 2 pupils per eye, a vision of the Soul King etc. I would recommend you come back to this part specifically, after finishing the first half of cour 3, if you want to piece everything together on your own. - Yuha's Royal Guards are the strongest Quincies, that are worthy being by Yuha's side till the very end. So it isn't surprising than the fight against Squad 0 is a constant back and forth. Both sides are strong, only nuances make a difference. There was one empty spot in the Royal Guards the other Sternritter were wanting to get, which Askin (Temu Aizen) got in the end. Although his power seems a bit odd at first, it's pretty broken. Without saying what others have already said... think of a pharmacist whose job is to prescribe a dosage of a medicine. Pharmacists know at what dosage a medicine becomes lethal. The other Royal Guards are just as broken, in the end they are the top of the top, otherwise Yuha wouldn't have taken them up to the palace. - You two are correct, we have never seen a family member of Yoruichi's up until this point. There was always mentions and talks about family, siblings etc, but the first non-vague appearance happens here. - The best showcase of Ichibe's power and what he's capable of is episode 19 of Bleach when Zangetsu is introduced. The moment happens in the middle of the episode, if you wanna watch it (pay attention to the subs), but the significance is in the manga panel. If you do read my comment, please ask one of your mods to show you the manga panel and explain to you why that moment looks like that.

They did mention squad zero before in the regular show. One time I can remember for sure is when they mentioned hiyoris old captain being promoted to squad zero (pink haired food lady). This was during the flashback arc when the visords first got hollowfied. You just never really payed attention because it was never expanded upon. It was mentioned a time or two here and there separate from that instance as well.

The flashback at the beginning of ep 24 essentially confirms what has been laid out in the subtexts. Both the upper dogs of Soul Society and Wandenreich have been spreading false information regarding the war 1000 years ago for their benefits. The war was never about the balance of souls, as it has been said. While the flashback has info that can only be understood with context, there are parts of it that give out essential lore. I suggest that you watch it again. Personally, watching that flashback as well as the chapter "God Like You" (which the anime had adapted at the beginning of Cour 2, but also omitted a lot) would make you feel empathatic but at the same time not all to Yhwach. Yhwach used the medallion that held Yamamoto's Bankai to switch places so that he could escape the cage. When you look at Ichibei through the lens of reading a manga, we can conclude that he's essentially the author of Bleach. His power, Black, is like the very ink that is used to create a manga itself, which is meta. Once you get that, you can further conclude how he has authorial powers. Meaning he controls everything that has happened in Bleach. With this information, when you go back to when Old Man Zangetsu first tried to reveal his name, there's something really interesting. OMZ was trying to make Ichigo into a Quincy back then by telling Ichigo his real name, which is Yhwach. But in the manga, it was painted over with black ink. And based on the above information, it was Ichibei who interfered. Ichibei wanted Ichigo to turn into a shinigami, which explains why he interfered. That also explains why OMZ lied to Ichigo about his name, as OMZ had no other choice. Michelle asked a very interesting question, which was how the Quincies never questioned Yhwach possibly taking away their powers through Auswahlen. In the manga, Robert (the Walter White looking guy) was terrorised about this possibility, indicating how he knew this might happen when Yhwach went into the Royal Palace. This indicates how those who already knew about this were still following Yhwach through fear. The technique, Sankt Altar, that Yhwach used against Ichibei is what was used to develop the Bankai-stealing medallion so that all Quincies can use it.

This isn't a spoiler so you guys can read this. I'll answer a few of your questions because some of the things presented were a bit confusing at first and this is not really a fault of you guys but more accurately, it was due to the wording/style of writing which Kubo used which can be considered to be metaphorical. Anyways: 1. Is Yhwach the son of the Soul King? Yes, at this point in the series, he is actually the only being implied to be the offspring of the Bleach universe's god/creator (i.e. the Soul King). S/N: Michelle was actually on to something when she mentioned that the characters in these episodes are like the gods of Greek mythology but more specifically, Yhwach is supposed to be "Jesus" and the Soul King is supposed to be "God". So if you really think about it, Ichigo and Uryuu are essentially demigods due to their relationship with Yhwach. Also, due to the mystery surrounding Yhwach's birth, many Bleach fans are now extremely curious as to who is his mother or in this instance, the "Soul Queen" of the Bleach universe. 2. What is Askin's (Temu Aizen's) ability? Askin's ability "The Death Dealing" allows him to manipulate the lethal dose of ANYTHING he wishes once he has ingested/received a certain amount of that substance. What does that mean? Well, a lethal dose is essentially any amount of a particular substance which can become poisonous and/or kill you. For example, if you consume enough bananas, it quite literally will become poisonous to you and will eventually kill you. So in these episodes, we see that Askin used his ability on Oh-Etsu (the creator of the Zanpakuto) and lowered the lethal dosage of blood flowing through his body which basically meant that if Oh-Etsu had too much blood flowing in his body, he would essentially die but due to the fact that your body needs a certain amount of blood to survive, Oh-Etsu could not afford to have less blood than necessary to stay alive. Askin's ability also works on physical attacks as we see that he was cut with "Sayafushi" (the super sharp sword that Oh-Etsu used) but yet he still lived and the reason behind that is because Askin used his power "The Death Dealing" to increase his lethal dosage of "dying to attacks from Sayafushi" which basically means that, you can't actually kill Askin unless you do it in one hit because if you don't, he becomes immune to your attacks to the point that attacks that you previously used to slice off his arm wouldn't even be able to scratch him. Due to his ability, Askin is essentially one of the hardest characters to kill in the Bleach universe with only a handful of people like Yhwach being able to outright kill him. Did squad zero combine their powers to let Senjumaru (the sewing lady) fight? No, they did not. As she explained, all members of squad zero sealed their powers by making a blood oath in which, the other members of the squad have to die in order for just one squad zero member to use their full power. The reason for this can be seen in the fact that, when Senjumaru activated her bankai, all the 3 worlds - the soul society, the world of the living and hueco mundo - began to shake and experience tremors (like earthquake tremors). These tremors are caused by the intense spiritual pressure that Senjumaru possesses. Remember how the soul society is always saying that Ichigo's power may affect the world of the living? Well, Senjumaru is essentially the example of what kind of effect they were referring to. Now, just think what would happen if all squad zero members used their bankai at the same time, it would quite literally destroy the 3 worlds, which is why the other members had to give up their lives to allow just one person to use their full power. That should also put into perspective how strong squad zero actually is. S/N: Like, you guys said, Squad Zero are essentially mythical (yes, it's a real word lol) beings that have existed for eons and not many people in the soul society (not even the nobles and captains) have had many opportunities to see them in person and the soul king is also a mythical being which not many people outside of Squad Zero know about which is why Yoruichi, despite being a member of one of the 4 noble families has never met the soul king. So, if you think about it, Ichigo is one of the very few characters in the Bleach universe who has actually met the people who keep order within the 3 worlds. 4. Why doesn't the Soul King have any limbs and why does he look like that? Well, you guys actually got it right. The soul king's body parts are scattered throughout the Bleach universe. The reason for his body parts being scattered is yet to be known but it is speculated that the soul king willingly allowed himself to be dismembered and it makes sense because, in reality, what can you do against the guy who has the power to shape the world as he sees fit? Not one thing unless he allows you to, lol. Anyways, these body parts have immense power and represent an aspect of the soul king's true power. For example, do you guys remember Gremmy (the guy that fought Kenpachi)? Remember how it was revealed that he was actually just a brain? Well, it is implied/speculated that Gremmy was actually the soul king's brain and Yhwach had him locked up back at the Wandenrich because his imagination power was too powerful. So, basically, the soul king's body parts have taken on sentient life and are wandering around in the Bleach universe. Allow me to also say that what we see as the soul king in his present state is basically just his upper body minus his arms and just that portion of him is literally holding the 3 worlds together which just goes to show you how broken the soul king's full powers are/were. 5. What is Yhwach's goal? Well, in essence, his goal is to merge the 3 worlds into 1. I could go into more detail but if I do, it would be borderline spoiler-ish although, it wouldn't be spoiler-ish in terms of what happens next in the story but more specifically, it would be spoiler-ish because of the lore regarding past events in the Bleach universe that it requires to fully explain it. So if you guys want, you can just reply to my comment and I'll explain it but if not then we'll just leave it at that because honestly, it wasn't explained in the manga, only the light novels and so I'm not sure if they'll put it in the anime. I'm so sorry that this explanation was so long but I was trying to fully answer all your questions without giving away any spoilers because, like I mentioned, Kubo tends to write things in a very abstract way which can be a bit confusing at times and so, you as the viewer, ends up having to do research on the various themes he writes about. Kubo, as a writer does not spoon feed his audience which leads to some of the themes being confusing which isn't a bad writing style, it just depends on the preference of the viewer. I'm really glad that you guys are so interested in Bleach as it is my favorite anime and it makes me happy to see that you guys are invested in it.

[Tidbits Ep.26] - Ichibei's using his Bankai to erase Yhwach's name is actually why at the beginning of the story Ichigo couldn't hear his name. In the manga when the Yhwach inside of Ichigo tried to say it's name, it was blacked out in Ink. This was confirmed by Kubo in his Kluboutside QnA's. - Lille Barro's "X-Axis" is extremely broken, it has no travel time when he shoots everything between the target and his gun is hit. - Further, we see Ichibei clearly doesn't respect or hold Humans in high regard, he speaks as if they are below him. This is dope because we see that he and Yhwach are practically complete opposites yet are willing to go to any length to win. Ichibei operates in in callous manner caring only about the Balance of the world, in contrast, Yhwach is a being that is forced to feel the suffering of humanity (or at least those that return to him) and he seeks to destroy the system that allows it (His feeling of superiority is further on show when he turns him into an ant and steps on him) - This season while still phenomenal had tons of scheduling and production issues, so the team wasn't able to do everything the wanted and it's why this episode was kinda cut short. For reference, a 12 episode season of anime usually takes about a year to produce it, however Cour 2 of Bleach TYBW only had about 6 months. [Lotta extra writing beyond this point for those Interested] - "Nobody can take anything from me" & "Everything in this world exists for me to take it" These two lines by Yhwach are VERY important to his character once we get more context. Kubo uses it in a way that appears more so as a boast so many readers/viewers tend not to think much of it. In short and without spoiling of course, It's important to think of the position of Yhwach (specfically in the eyes of the Quincy) by name and concept he is their God, and they look to him for a specific reason. He is meant to be their "Savior" a Savior is someone who protects others from danger. This is done on purpose, as it's setting up a parallel with Ichigo, whose name means "One who Protects" while also being his inverse. Ichigo learning at an early age that his name meant that, is what gave him the purpose and intent of wanting to protect his mother. We know he failed, and from that accident he felt he had to protect people in his mother's stead. This is the 1st of many examples in Bleach which equivocates "names" with "fate given by something higher". [We see it here as well with Ichibei giving Yhwach a name, and that name changing what Yhwach is capable of] Throughout much of the story Ichigo accepts that Fate "One who protects", but the problem was that it was done out of duty, a role he was fated to do. Last season with The Blade is Me, Ichigo who "was born in darkness" learned of the truth, becoming one with himself and so he changed his fate by Choosing! to Protect instead of doing it from a place of ignorance. As it stands this may all seem like random ramblings (my apologies) but I really think it's important to keep in mind and this will make more sense later on. Last episode we saw Yhwach returning his own voice, against the man who presides over names, which again, in Bleach is tied to Fate (You could say that Ichibei presides over fate) . Yhwach is one who rebels against fate, and the same can be said of Ichigo. (again sorry for typing so much, and it'll all make sense when we get to the end of this arc) [Reposted]

[Tidbits Ep.25] - I really enjoy some of the underlying aspects of this fight. A key one is the theme of Names, which is very important down the line, but it starts here. We already know that Ichibei has governance over names. In Bleach Names are everything, from names, purpose is derived. Yhwach, as we know is named in a manner that refers to God. In this episode we see Ichibei strip the voice of Yhwach, in other words, he's a person capable of taking from God, and Yhwach responds by proving his position as a God by giving himself a voice. A God is one who can give or take things at will and we see that on display here. Ichibei has power over names, and all things have names. - "The Pen is mightier than the Sword" its quite literally on display here, I feel that concept is important when understanding what Ichibei stands for. He's very much the in lore author of the universe, the one who knows all, and seemingly manipulates it to his choosing. - The DeathDealing allows Askin to calculate the "perfect lethal dose" or the amount of something that will cause death of any substance he takes into his body. He can then raise or lower that value as he sees fit, inducing a lethal dosage of that substance in those around them. (By drinking his Blood He can make blood lethal) - The Auschwallen in my opinion seems to be a Perversion of the Christian concept of "The Rapture"

The Illustration guide (tease) ending didn't annoy me as much as soon as I thought about this episode (nr. 30) as being "extra" , since all seasons had/have 13 episodes and this was nr 14 of cour 3. (I believe I've also read something about that episode being a ehm… good-maker(?) . Making this a good attempt at meeting us (fans) halfway)

[Tidbits Ep.24] - This entire opening sequence between Yhwach and Ichibei is exclusive to the anime. This was highly applauded by manga readers because it gave some much-needed context. The 1st is how Yhwach eyes became "confined", apparently Ichibei (who for some reason has control and command over the left & right arm of the Soul King) intentionally allowed Yhwach to absorb the Left hand which sealed his eyes, plus it gave direct confirmation of Yhwach's relation to the Soul King. - With the added scene we also get additional context as to what Yhwach motives may be. He seems upset about how the three realms came about and claims that the soul king has been humiliated. (He also speaks about how the Soul King made life and death and for it people live in fear, this also seems to upset him) - Here we learn that Yhwach not only receives knowledge and power from those who carry the Quincy Blood upon death, but he also receives their anger, fear, and suffering. The bankai isnt all of theirs together. They all have their own bankai. It is a case that they are so powerful they can shake the foundation of creation itself when used so they had to limit their power by doing a blood oath where they cant use their full power (Bankai) unless only one of them is alive. The bankai is Senjumaru’s. By being the only one left she can is now able to use it. Thats all.

None of it is black and white so Y.B could possibly not even be the big bad and it all leads up to the soul king being that. There was a lot of anime only scenes in these 3 episodes. The meeting between yhwach and ichibei in the past was all anime only. And everything after oetsu being shot through the other 2s guard is also anime only. Including senjumarus bankai. Which like others mentioned is not combined powers but her power alone. If every squad zero member released their full power at the same time they would destroy the 3 worlds. So they each put a seal on themselves that requires the death of all but 1 squad member to allow any 1 of them to use their full powers. (not including ichibei... he is special) the cliffhanger will make a lot of sense why they stopped where they did come next cour. Cour 3 is my favorit, im super hyped

Senjumarus powers are her own, they were sealed when they made a pact with each other. Also the death dealing works like a lethal dose of anything, like how you can only drink a certain amount of alcohol before you die to the poisoning, Askin completely controls that dose. So he was actively lowering how much blood is needed in the body before you die to blood poisoning, he can do that with anything. Also ichibe controls the very concepts of both names and black, names mean everything in bleach, you have no power without names such as shikai or bankai. He was the one who gave them those powers to begin with, its not mentioned in the anime but he is over 1 million years old, literally older than everything thats existed. Also yes giselle is a man, kubo has confirmed this in his Q&A, giselle is trans. Her friends which are the other girls accept it but most other quincies wouldnt.

He's the one who told Renji he didn't know the full name of his sword because he knows all the names that exist in the Soul Society. And then, when the members of Squad Zero sacrifice themselves, it's to break the seal that prevents them from using their Bankai, which are so powerful. The conversation between Ichibei and Yhwach was indeed a little confusing but if you listen carefully, it reveals more about the Bleach universe and Yhwach's goal. Yhwach says that "The world was once one. Who set boundaries to that eternal peace by separating life and death?" This implies that at the beginning, life and death were once one, happening at the same time so no one really was alive nor dead (or the other way, they were both alive and dead at the same time, which is confusing) "Who brought the fear of death to the people?" "I know the anguished cries of the souls that have returned to me" Ichibei states that the Soul King was the one responsible for separating the world (World of living, Soul Society, and Hueco Mundo) as well as creating the cycle of life and death and Yhwach's reply implies that he wants to rid the world of the fear of death caused by this cycle Remember the finale of Ichigo vs Aizen, the scene when Aizen gets sealed, he shouts at Urahara angrily "Why do you subject yourself to that THING?", that "thing" referring to the Soul King. Urahara replies that its just the way the world is as the Soul King is needed to keep the balance of the world. Aizen rebukes "that is an argument a loser would make. A victor must always speak of how the world should be rather than how it is." Remember in TYBW episode 7 when Yhwach met with Aizen, he stated that they shared the same path? In this sense, both Yhwach and Aizen had aimed for the Soul Palace and we can infer that they both wanted to change how the world worked in their own image. Also, the scene when Ichigo and team gets launched to the Soul Palace cuts out a comedic scene that a lot of people, including me, were upset about explaining why Orihime's outfit was the way it was as Urahara was the one that designed it as a fan service to Ichigo (and to us). In the scene where Senjumaru uses her Bankai to wipe out the Sternritter Royal Guards, it is worth noting the style in which each and every Sternritters are defeated as well. In regards to who has the morale high ground, if you go back to TYBW episode 3, the Temu Aizen is asked if the Soul Reapers are the ones who are just and he then replies that in war, both sides are just. Both the Soul Society and Quincy have their own justifications to this war and its only the victor that decides.

Timeline so far in these episodes up until the end of Cour 2: Yuha was born as a child with unique abilities and was worshipped by early Quincies Sometime down the line he had his own empire with other Quincies and Ichibe met with him to reach a deal where only the Soul Reapers deal with balancing the universe (cleansing of souls) and Soul Society will overlook whatever else the Quincy Empire does in the world The deal didn't go through. Ichibe seals Yuha's eye abilities and also gives him a glimpse of the Soul King's history to show him how little he knows about the world. Yuha eventually evades Soul Society and Yamamoto beats him the first time The Quincy go in hiding. Isshin & Masaki meet. Ichigo and Ishida are born. Yuha is slowly reviving as per the Quincy poem of 900 years recovery. Ichigo and Ishida lose their mothers to the Auswhalen (the ability he showcased here to reclaim Quincy powers and redistribute them). Yuha's new Quincy army existed in the shadows / pocket dimension within the Soul Society this whole time developing new abilities and ways to beat the Soul Reapers Present time

Squad Zero didn’t “graduate” because they were stronger than Yama (no one’s been NATURALLY physically/spiritually superior than him yet). They shaped the history of Soul Society with their inventions. The pink haired one was a Hiyori’s captain but created something so undeniable she was forced to join. They become stronger than Yama after joining Squad Zero and being remade/enhanced by the Soul King himself.

Just to give a lil clarification on the Quincy "race", they are not exactly a race. The easiest way to think about it is that they are like Jews in the sense that being Jewish is an ethnicity, but it is also a religion. So some Quincy are actually Quincy by blood, and other Quincy are Quincy via being converted. So a lot of the "family" stuff is actually both literally and spiritual/metaphorical. Hopefully that doesnt just make it more confusing lol

This meeting between Osho and Yuha has so much packed in it that it goes over every reactors heads. You will have to refer back to it in later episodes. The soul king's arm is an important piece of info to remember as well as Yuha's eyes, the people standing in the background (who were actually already shown during Yama's Bankai South ability as risen ashes), and the "father" lines. Ywhach is inspired by YWH a telegrammation of the name Yahweh, the name of God in the bible. It is hebrew. Basically, Yuha is Quincy Jesus and the Soul King is God the Father. Two out of 3 in the trinity of Father, son and holy spirit. Quincy are given a German/Christian theme.
