He said that for the Chunin Exams, the genin needed to rely on their own powers so the judges could see how well they had developed their own strengths. The Leaf is developing these tools because of the potentially serious threats like the Otsutsuki, they could be facing. Team 7 in Shippuden had a hell of a time with Kaguya. They feared that Kaguya had associates since she was amassing an army for something other than fighting shinobi. In the worst-case scenario, where every advantage needs to be used, scientific ninja tools could, depending on what they could develop, give the leaf an edge, or at least level the playing field a bit.

Boruto can’t be mad at that man when he decided to cheat. He didn’t have to use that tool at all but he cared more about winning then actually earning a victory and quite frankly shikadai forgave him too quickly for that. And as far as the doctor he took advantage of the situation and boruto consented when he decided to use that tool. That’s on him.

I wish someone in this series would’ve explained the chunin exam thing explicitly to Boruto tho… because it feels like a gaslighting campaign without that clarification. Is Boruto supposed to infer this somehow?

boruto used the scientific ninja tool during the chunin exam which defeats the purpose of the test which is to showcase your own abilities you've cultivated through hard work he literally cheated on the test. naruto never condemned the tools he even liked them when he first saw them but he specifically banned them from the chunin exam

The use of scientific ninja tools was strictly forbidden in the Chunin Exams, because this exam was meant to test the candidates' true strength and knowledge of jutsu, and scientific ninja tools would influence and distort the true results. Even though scientific ninja tools are used more and more, ninja at the academy are still trained to fight and manage without them. Because you shouldn't rely on them too much in a real fight, because you'd be helpless if they broke. So, that Naruto was so strict with Boruto during the Chunin Exams and reacted like he did, wasn't unfair or hypocritical. Boruto cheated during an exam, and he deserved to be punished for it. The current situation involves scientific ninja tools primarily used in everyday life, such as prosthetics (like in Ao and Naruto's case) and scientific ninja tools that are designed to make the work of the ninja a little easier. These are two completely different situations. Boruto is just offended, because the moment at the chunin exam was so humiliating for him. He just as to learn the difference between these two situations.

To answer your question Ron, we did know the Class Rep was here before this episode. I don't remember if it was a filler, canon, or anime canon but in a previous we explored her relationships with her teammates and once she left that's when we got the samurai girl as her replacement on the team.

This new opening is by Ikimono-gakari who did Shippuden opening 3 - Blue Bird and they did Shippuden opening 5. Some of the Boruto openings take inspiration from Naruto openings too so I can't wait whenever y'all react to the openings on stream to see the visuals

Bro when Boruto used the scientific ninja tools he was meant to show the ninjutsu skils he learnt in his mission, Naruto is using it now because s*it is at stack and they are clearly not stronger than the otsustski's.

Here’s the thing about Scientific Ninja Tools: They were expressly forbidden during the Chunin exams, because one of the main purposes of the exams is to evaluate the genins’ abilities, such as chakra control and their arsenal of jutsu. Using the SNTs would defeat this entirely. It would be like using a calculator on a math test when it expressly wasn’t allowed. Boruto is misplacing his anger here at the tools themselves instead of at himself for cheating. Naruto using a tool in every day life is absolutely NOT the same as Boruto using one to win a fight he couldn’t win on his own otherwise. Tools that can help you walk up walls so you don’t have to waste chakra on it during a mission could mean the difference between life and death later. But it’s still important that a shinobi develop the chakra control and skill itself, because they shouldn’t be DEPENDENT on the actual tool. The tool is to be used as an assist, not a substitute. The genin still need to develop these skills and not use the tools as crutches in the absence of learning the actual skills. What if the tool climbing up walls breaks, and you were reliant upon it instead of learning how to actually do it?? THAT is the difference. Too many people do not realize this
