Who else rocked out to the opening of High School of the Dead by Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets?

Actually he was already famous in Japan way before he did anime songs. Also this was a Japanese drama series OST. Anime (and drama) tend to use popular singers and bands at that time for OPs (except classic anime, they used to have what we call anime singer, or some of the non-major/non-mainstream anime also still use them), so basically if you watch mainstream anime you'll discover current pop artist/band in Japan. (pop = popular, not a music genre anyway) Thats why when you see anime songs streaming chart you'll see names like Yonezu Kenshi, King Gnu, yoasobi, Official Hige Dandism, Mrs. Green Apple, Creepy Nuts etc on top chart rather than other anime songs because they already have fanbase outside anime fans in Japan and they're currently on the top list in Japanese music industry. Its not like they became popular because of anime, people has been listening to them all the time. If you wanna discover more undercovered Japsnese singer/band, anime EDs are one of the good options to discover them.

iirc it’s the ending song for Unnatural, an investigative tv series
