Fruits Basket - Episode 1

I came back found my way to you guys again, and saw you were covering my favorite anime all time cant wait to watch you guys react to it !! Welcome back to me ahaha

Rejoined your Patreon after finding out that you're watching Furuba. I've seen the 2001 adaptation and am looking forward to seeing the new more complete version. Oh and I'm a monkey too! A metal monkey, as it turns out. 😏

you guys need to watch Nana too

oh damn I didnt know you started Fruits Basket!!! This is my fav

Ron: "I hope it's not sad"

Sounds like I'm the same age as Ron. Now that I think about it, I wonder if I ever bumped into him back when I worked in Citrus Heights. I used to think I was an earth snake too, but a Chinese friend of mine corrected me and told me I was an earth dragon. I was using January 1st as the start of the year, but the Chinese new year is aligned with the new moon that appears between January 21st and February 20th.

been sooo excited for this 😭❤️

Apparently I'm a Fire Rabbit. Learn something new every day.

Nooo now we know how old u guys are by saying ur zodiac, my mystery is ruined

dont gaslight our aries queen ron!

Can't wait to see y'all's reactions. I always start this series and fall off around season 3. Hopefully I can finish if I watch with y'all.

interesting... vedy interesting...

Ron’s Chinese zodiac is a snake..no wonder he loves Orochimaru😂😂😂

HOW DID I MISS THIS DROP OMG

HOW DID I MISS THIS DROP OMGGGG LETS GOOOOOOO PEAK

oi the last time I watched this was in middle school, and Ron is really talented in making people confused and this 2019 stuff is the prove

So happy you’re watching this too!

NO WAY YOU REACT TO THIS!! I'M SO EXCITED TILL I COMMENT!! (I never comment before this)

IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS SHOWWWWW YESSSSP

OMG FB?! Ahhhhhhh so excited!!!

Yay! Im excited you’re watching this! Just to kinda add on but the Chinese zodiac does mainly focus on the year but there is a more detailed Chinese astrology called BaZi that shows your Chinese zodiac for your year, month, day and hour. Each also associated with an element. They also play a role on how your year’s fortune will be. Also Western Astrology comes from Greeks and Romans which they based off Babylonian Astronomy so there is a stronger focus on the placement of the planets and constellation during your birth month, day and hour. ie your month sign is associated with the sun

YESSSSS! I LOVE THIS!!

Watching this first episode with you both is so energizing - I cried in hearing Tohru’s backstory regarding her mom’s death, laughed at many things, and found myself thrilled at the end of the episode when all the Soma’s turned into their animal forms. 🙏🏼🤸🏻‍♀️

@20:20 - Tohru’s spunk, and the reactions of you both, got me feeling warm inside 🥹🙏🏼🥰

2019 is the remake of the anime. It follows the manga more closely than the older one which was only one season and strayed off the manga

FUN FACT: 2001 is older than 2019

this anime managed to rank first in MDL with 9.2 or sth like that for a week or sumn, surpassing many popular shounen animes. I’m glad you guys finally watched this show. It’s absolutely amazing and Tohru’s mom is like one of the best moms in animes😭Also every single named character is fleshed out beautifully too

Watching this for the first time with you guys since I did the same with Your lie in April. My regular zodiac sign is Pisces but my Chinese zodiac is fire rat lmao. Pretty cool. I always been into astrology zodiac signs but never knew too much about Chinese zodiacs so shout out to Michelle for explaining more about it. I'm hooked on this show so far, I love it. I agree with Michelle I definitely really love this first episode, I love the concept. Also, glad yall went back and couple times so yall can notice the guy in the tree (cat guy) since you missed him at first lol

damn first time watching too

When you guys finished fruits basket please reaction "future diry" You guys love it🙏

Juni Taisen is a fun one season chinese zodiac themed battle anime as well!

Fruits Basket ??? let's goo

Bro this whole time I thought Ron was the same age as me, but if he's an earth snake, he's one year older than me, I'm a metal horse. But also, yeah there is the western zodiac, which is based on the months and the chinese or eastern zodiac which is based on the year.

I'm SO excited!!!

So happy you guys are watching this!

OMG!!!😭 We finally started Fruits Basket!!!❤️❤️❤️ It's my favourite Shoujo romance anime!!! One of the best romance anime!!! I still remember reading this manga in secondary/middle school and waiting for it to be printed every month and it was my favourite and I loved talking about it with my friends who also read that same manga. I also wanted to be the cat Zodiac too as I was reading it.🐱 My other favourite character is the rabbit and rat.🐰🐭 Actually, I love all of them!😆❤️🤭 When the anime first came out in 2001, it was incomplete and they had to wrap it with a different ending since they caught up to the manga that was still ongoing. Fortunately, years after the manga had ended, the studio TMS Entertainment picked it up and animated the reboot 2019 version. I was in tears when I heard the news for it to be properly animated.😭😭😭 In Asia, we call it the 12 Chinese Zodiac for the 12 animals, based on the year you are born. The 12 astrology the Western people refer to we call it the 12 astrology or horoscope, which is based on the month period you are born. I'm glad the 1st episode has caught your interest and hope you continue to enjoy it!😊❤️❤️❤️

The best way to describe Fruits Basket is that it’s simply just beautifully written I stayed away from it for a long time cuz I thought it was just some girly type of manga but when the 2019 version of the anime came out…I gave it a chance and I was so shocked at how good it was Also, one thing people get confused on before watching it is that they think it’s just a romance story but it’s a lot more than that

The 2001 version went a bit off script from the Manga and it didn’t even complete The 2019 version is all fully canon to the Manga

The cat story is from Fruits Basket but the Vietnamese version of the zodiac has the cat as the 4th animal and not the hare/rabbit. 🍙🐀🐶🐈

The 2001 anime was the older one that they never completed, and it wasnt as accurate to the manga as the 2019 version Guys correct me if I’m wrong😂 Also the VA cast for this is🔥👏

omg yes fruits basket

Yes Yes Yesssss😍😍😍This show is so complex and deep, I hope you guys love thiss

I was watching Ron trying to figure out his zodiac sign, and like a few minutes later I realized we finally know how old Ron is. It has been confirmed

Ummmm excuse me, I’m so ready for this hahaha I finished this as my first manga in high school. Let’s go! Yey, Michelle and I were both born in the year of the Monkey and me and Ron have the same bday! Thats so awesome! Must b why I love u guys both

Omg yesss I love this anime

i think i’ve waited my whole life for this… lol no but this is my absolute favorite anime!!! i just got so happy

OMG !! NO WAY ! This was one of the first anime shows i watched, so glad you are finaly experiencing it. I hope you enjoy <3
