The mother and all the women hated their situation and saw no way out. She’s happy her daughter ended the clan and she killed Naoya because she hated the men in the clan too. Every woman there had to “stay in there place” the only good guy there with a good heart was the boy with the paralyzing eyes (Ranta).

C
Chilè · January 31, 2026

Where does this narrative that rantas a good person even come from😭

I think her power finally made her proud of her daughter so she killed him for her is kinda how I took it idk

M

She’s also not as strong as Toji just yet but she perfected her heavenly pact just like he did so she has his potential.

M
MBA · January 24, 2026

Maki Zen’in, the inheritor of Toji’s will.

A
Apathina · January 24, 2026

Y'all might have missed it (it was not obvious compared to manga) but they actually overlayed a 1 to 1 panel of Toji vs Maki in the same pose. It was when she attacked her dad. She IS Toji. Ranta also acknowledged after seeing Maki that Toji had actually been merciful and let them all live after treating him poorly.

k
kirk poss · January 24, 2026

Her mom loved her but they were all in a terrible situation where she had to play ball. Remember Naoya was a misogynist who kept saying women who aren't submissive need to be stabbed in the back of the neck..... welp thats the way he went out.

R
Rocketboy · January 24, 2026

Nah I think that's a HUGE stretch, even top 10 is kinda hard to access. We got too many INSANE shonen with both great actions and insane stories (JJK heavily lacks on the story aspect, it has one of the poorest writing of all big popular shonen)

K
Kayso · January 23, 2026

I meant to comment on the intro with what Ron was talking about but completely forgot. I was so amazed by this peak episode but here's my 2 cents. There shouldn't be a pressure as reactors to know everything imo. Idk who watches reactors to be perfect analyzers but I don't. You're just watching anime and enjoying it, this isn't school. Yeah you're gonna forget something/misunderstand something/get something wrong we're human. That's why we are here to explain and let you know about the story to help you navigate through it. Now when some people do it out of spite and are triggered expecting yall to know everything, that's stupid. Ofc as the viewer you seen the show already so you're gonna know everything and things are obvious to you vs someone who is watching it for the first time. Folks be acting like they knew everything and had it perfect their first watch when they didnt know everything at first either. Y'all are actually smart. A lot of your predictions come true. And hell, I've watched Naruto at least 20 or so times, grew up on it and all and as much as I know about it, if I rewatch it right now it'll be something that I missed/didn't catch prior. From watching yalls reactions (and other reactors) to Naruto and other shows its things that I didnt catch because you happen to notice and point it out. Plus some anime are more complex than others. I watched a YouTube breakdown of JJK ep 3 with the culling games and I STILL don't understand but I'm sure I will once we keep watching. Ima rewatch the episode when the dub version drops lol

K
Kayso · January 23, 2026

Good lord I ain't mean for my comment to be that long lol my bad. TLDR It shouldn't be any pressure as reactors to know everything, this isn't school. We're human. If you forget/misunderstand something that's fine

Also the sword Maki has after Mai dies was created by Mai. It was the last thing Mai used her jujutsu for. Thats why she said after she creates this, she will die because making the sword used all the energy she had left.

P
Patrone07 · January 23, 2026

Sorry Ron I agree with Michelle original take I think the most was just sick in the head and finally seen her daughter as strong/someone capable of making the family name great that woman didn't have a ounce of genuine motherly love in her

M
MightGuy · January 23, 2026

When he said "The current Zen'in Clan only exist thanks to the whim of Toji-san!" I was like Damn, They're so lucky Toji didn't have a care in the world. Toji really was something else. Even after Death Toji lives on💯

Q
Quitzx1 · January 23, 2026

About the last episode being infomation heavy, I agree. I think its easy for viewers, who watch multiple reacters react to the same episode, its easiere for us to get a better understanding since we watch it multple times, and sometimes, toxic people cant fathom that idea, they just get mad when you two cant understand something immediately even when it took themselves multiple watches to even understand it.

S
Suf · January 23, 2026

So Maki has a heavenly restriction SIMILAR to tojis which is where by birth you trade cursed energy for exceptional physical prowess and senses, in Tojis he has 0 cursed eneergy a complete anomaly in that regard but ofc hes a physical freak. Maki has the same thing but she has a very tiny amount of cursed energy so her trade off for physical power is nowhere near as potent so because of that shes always been strong but of course nowhere near to the level Toji was. This is because Maki is a twin (with Mai), specifically amniotic sack shared twins where your umbilical cords are intertwined and you're in the same amniotic sack during pregnancy. Now in JJK this type of twin is only viewed as one individual by the "jujutsu universe", think of Maki and Mai as two fractured halves to one whole, they are pretty much meant to be one person soul wise but are split in two. Because of that each of them is holding each other back, this is why Mai has a cursed technique (creating objects from nothing via cursed energy) but Maki doesnt because a singular person is only given on technique. But this is also why Mai isnt good with cursed energy because Maki has some of the cursed energy that mai should also have due to them being split and most importantly on this same page the cursed energy Maki has is holding back her Heavenly Restriction preventing her from being like a Toji in the physical strength realm. Think of it as this specific type of twin as a glitch in the system and Mai passing away fixes the glitch, Mai also says shes taking the cursed energy from Maki to death which allows Maki to get that ABSOLUTE zero cursed energy and in turn maximising the Heavenly Restriction and giving her that fully awakened physical demon that she is like Toji In Mai's last moments she uses the last of her strength to use a final creation via her object creation technique to create an exact replica of the Soul Split Katana which is the one Toji used during the Hidden inventory arc

S

lil explanation for those who maybe didnt FULLY understand

m
mamimumemo · January 23, 2026

Its pretty petty though for Ougi to use the technique that actually for protecting one-self from domain lol So he knew that he couldn't dodge Maki's attack even before she leveled up. What a petty oldman.

m
mamimumemo · January 23, 2026

Also, I just realized that you guys probably didn't notice Maki's mother in the 1st episode. Its so gross that Naoya can say about her daughter's tits in front of the mother and she didn't say a word.

A
Ant · January 23, 2026

no hate at all…i get the point is for her to destroy them all …and im all for it for her to get her revenge snd kill them all itachi style 🔥…i just think the plot armor was too much 🤷🏻‍♂️just my opinion ..even with heavenly restriction ….if the fights where a bit more back and forth …it would of been better and more emotion..they didn’t have to make the zenin look like 1 health scrubs,🤦🏻‍♂️

(About the intro) You spoke nothing but facts. I watch you guys for a few different reasons. Being perfect isn't one of them. I like your guy's branding, I like the vibe, I like Ron's toughness and Michelle's joyfulness. If I want someone who is perfect I'll watch one of the few people who analysis instead of react, and I feel like that's a key difference people don't take account of. You're reactors not analysts. From my memory, you guys don't make detailed breakdowns, you make in the moment reaction videos... N' this is coming from a guy who remembers a fuck ton to the point his friends make fun of him for it lol, so I'm going to need anyone who's tripping on Rice n' Ginger to chill.

K
Kayso · January 23, 2026

Pure cinema. I'm speechless. Maki said alright let me show y'all something. Highlight of the episode for me was 20:00 when she was slaughtering all them. How is it possible for someone to slice and dice a whole unit of scrubs so beautifully and elegantly lmao. She even skated on the blood. The black and white effect with the red blood was a nice touch and then the transition at the end when the color came back on the screen was so good. Not to mention the camera angles. Loved the Kill Bill reference. I like Naoya but yeah he got humbled. What a masterpiece of an episode. And this is only episode 4 of this season and this episode was this good? I can only imagine how the rest of the episodes will be. I can't handle all this peak lol. It's a great time to be a JJK fan Ron his name is pronounced Nah-oh-ya, you almost got it lol

After rewatching the episode watching y’all’s reaction, I realized Maki’s mom said at the end “I’m glad I gave birth to you” because in her Maki finally gave her a reason for it. Which was to fine her the chance to kill the “head” of the clan. That’s the reason Maki didn’t kill him, so she could fulfill her mom’s wish. She still slit her throat in honor of Mai’s final wish. (I wrote this before y’all’s discussion at the end lol)

J
Jonatan Quiñonez Arana · January 23, 2026

First time you see Naoya, he says useless women should be stabbed in the back... This happens to him now... Also, the animation was 10/10 but the scene where Maki's father notices her coming back, was a full panel comparing her to Toji (he only felt that fear with him before). But here, animated was just a brief second, that maybe could have used a bit more emphasis. But nah, this was a 10/10 Love Mappa

A
Apathina · January 24, 2026

Yea the toji maki 1 to 1 panel was a fumble ngl. Instead of overlapping for a picosecond they should have done both panels side to side. It wouldn't be the first time anime (and specifically JJK) did something like that. Judging from multiple reaction channels people arent even realizing thats what happened.

She punched the hell out of Naoya, just like Luffy punched Bellamy in a very similar scene (both dudes are blond too and have an ability based on speed), and eliminated her whole clan as a consequence of her sister’s death—analogous to Itachi eliminating his whole clan while keeping his only brother alive. Both are male characters, and here it’s a female… Pretty cool stuff.

A
Apathina · January 24, 2026

I don't really think Itachi killing his clan because some corrupt government dude told him too is comparable to a girls twin being murdered and them being treated horribly all their lives deciding to get revenge...

J
Jay rellim · January 22, 2026

Can someone explain this to me? If naoya touched maki at 27:48, and the technique freezes her if she doesnt move within 1/24 of a second, does that mean 27:48 until roughly 28:02 was all within 1/24 of a second?!?! so naoya ran that entire loop past maki and back all within 1/24 of a second?! and she was able to counter?!?! it feels like they're moving at mach 3 speed right now. if this is true, i cant tell if the anime is just upscaling them to make the scene cool or if this is exactly how it was stated/portrayed in the manga

J
Jay rellim · January 22, 2026

supersonic speed is at most 1,702 m/s, which is a bit over a mile a second. it feels like naoya ran more than a mile during that 12-14 second section of the fight, all within 1/24 of a second?! im so lost at these feats

K
Kcashforever · January 22, 2026

Maki didn’t plan to kill everyone, at the beginning nor could. She said that she wanted to take over. She killed them all for Mai That’s what’s so great about jjk, there’s so many cool characters. And Ron she didn’t kill any special grade in this episode. Don’t forget we have special grade sorcerers on our side. And Tojj defeated young Gojo and Geto who were both top special grade sorcerers even at that time When they mention the headquarters, they are referring to where the higher ups stay

Remember Naoya said woman should walk 3 steps behind man, and woman who can't do that should be stabbed in the back. And now he got stabbed in the back by a woman who always walked 3 steps behind him, and dead 🙌🏼

S
Spunkbutter · January 22, 2026

Guys…. There is something you’re missing about Maki’s mother killing Naoya which is genius writing. S3 episode 1, Naoya LITERALLY said, “any woman that doesn’t know how to walk behind a man deserves to be stabbed in the back.” Naoya dies by being stabbed in the back by a woman. Also, she resented the zenin clan, she just was too weak to ever do anything about it and resented Maki for possibly making her life more miserable. But in the end, maki destroyed the clan she hated and in her last act she decided to kill Naoya and finish them off.

D
Davis · January 22, 2026

Twins share cursed energy. Maki had the same heavenly pact as Toji but it was never fully active due to Mai having cursed energy. Mai died. Maki by proxy now had 0 cursed energy which has given her the same heavenly pact as Toji. At base physical might she is the same as Toji now. The only thing she is lacking, is battle experience and overall experience using her heavenly pact. So currently while the same power as Toji, she probably isn’t quite there yet. But she can be better than Toji if she gets better experience and mastery over it.

m
mamimumemo · January 22, 2026

Maki's physical condition is now the same as Toji, she had curse energy up to non-sorcerers but not zero. And now Mai has taken her cursed energy so she is the same as Toji, with zero curse energy. About which is stronger, well, Maki is still adapting with her new body, so there's still room for growth. But at least even her dad remembered Toji when he saw her.

C
CRMZTR · January 22, 2026

YO WTF DID I JUST WATCH 😭😭 (I yapped last week so ima let others answer your questions) Both Maki and Toji are so auraful man, smh... 🚶‍♂️ on EVERYONE'S SOUL in this chat, WE'RE ALL letting maki crack us ✌️

m
mamimumemo · January 22, 2026

The sad part is, Maki usually talks in masculine way, so if she wanted to say "Wake up" she would say "Okiro!" but in this case, she said "Okite!", which is more feminine way or like how a child would talk. That shows the true feeling of her that she has been suppressing.

S
Spunkbutter · January 22, 2026

Ok guys so she LITERALLY is the exact same as Toji. That was the whole point of Mai sacrificing herself. Previously the only difference between Toji and Maki is that Toji had ZERO cursed energy due to his heavenly pact. Maki was an incomplete weak version of Toji because Mai existed; twins are seen as one individual in jujutsu. So because Mai had cursed energy, it was holding Maki back from being Toji. So Maki is literally equal to Toji now. So when Mai sacrificed herself, she said she is “taking all the cursed energy with her.” Basically saying that Maki will finally have a fully realized heavenly pact. Maki is Toji 2.0. The only difference between them it’s essentially battle experience.

J
Jay rellim · January 22, 2026

so they cant train and get stronger/faster?? like maki is pretty much stunted again now in terms of physical capabilities (just at a much higher level)?

N
NigerianPrinceNoScam · January 22, 2026

She is definetly NOT stronger than Toji

N
Nicole · January 22, 2026

Toji only got a little bit of edge on Maki due to experience. Maki gotta get used to this body then I'm sure she'll be on par if not better.

m
mamimumemo · January 22, 2026

Fun fact, Gege have said in the official fanbook that former head of Zenin clan, Naobito, became the head of clan simply because he was strong. So Maki's dad is just a weak ass that couldnt surpass Naobito in pure strength, even though Naobito's technique was quite new, that normally wouldn't be accepted easily by a conservative clan (which that also proves Naobito is the strongest that he could surpass that condition).

I think the reason Makis mom was happy to have had her in that moment, is beacuse for women that clan is awful as stated in seson 1 ,in season 2 the narrator even calls the clan cursed. This episode exceeded my expectations, as a manga reader I was hyped but the way they produced the episode was in a league of its own. Y
Ygjez · January 22, 2026

Just for quick info, Maki became as strong as Toji after Mai passed away by taking away the shared cursed energy they shared as twins. Hence why when her dad felt her aura it felt as if he was fighting Toji when she got up. For me one of the most anticipated fights coming into this season and so glad Maki packed up these fools 😮‍💨🔥
