Your Lie in April - Episode 22

“I told one single lie. Kaori likes watari. Shocking right? But I’m glad I told it…after all kousei, that lie brought us together!”
Completely relate to you Ron. I seek personal growth to a fault which is why Shonens speak to me. I will forever love the Rock Lee archetype. Blessed with nothing but wills his way forward. That does something to me deep down.
I feel great about this... teehee
I always wait for the emotional episodes to see them cry but end up crying with them
Ron about to learn how to play the piano
Thanks Ron for being so open and reflected. Crying may be healing for us, but it's okay to not enjoy it. Makes me respect you a lot that you let stories like this touch you, despite your discomfort. Because if you were guarding yourself to avoid the discomfort, you wouldn't cry like that and your appreciation for the show wouldn't feel so genuine. Thanks for sharing this experience. Wans't sure if I would cry again, but here we are~
i play piano, but beyond that, every time i watch this anime it moves me. every time i see this ending, it’s impossible not to cry. even though i feel the ending was a bit rushed starting around episodes 15–16, i still think it’s a masterpiece for what it conveys, what it shows you, and what it reveals at the end. we don’t really know what happens to arima after all this, but in my imagination he becomes the pianist he always wanted to be, and he keeps playing for her many more times throughout his life. thank you, truly, for letting me experience this anime with you all. i actually prefer it underrated. i prefer it niche. i like it that way.. so it can be enjoyed and revisited
Ngl after like the first few episodes it was too much of a slow-burn that i stopped the rewatch, but i still came back here for the last episode and their reaction :D
Can I just say how much I appreciate how far Ron has come in these reactions. I remember him trying to hide his tears in Demon Slayer and now often sometimes he the first to tear up.
i was just talking about this with someone. Anime and talking with you guys has really helped me
There’s OVA if u want watch
What is it about just curious?
This show is painful, but it's so fricking good and underrated. This is also one of the best finales to an anime ever imo. The performance, the writing, the dialogue, the emotions, and it ties everything together. its so sad, yet beautiful.
This is the only episode i've ever watched and I was still crying D:
thats wild bro
FML
There are people like me who enjoy watching shows that are heartbreaking, ones that hurt deeply and make my tears flow like a river. And of course, it’s completely understandable that there are people like you who don’t enjoy that kind of emotional experience. I’m glad that both of you were able to watch Your Lie in April and experience one of the most memorable, tear-jerking romance anime ever made. I can’t reveal too much about Fruits Basket, but it’s another one of the best romance anime, with plenty of heartfelt moments along with some quirky bits. ごめんなさい in advance!🙏🏻
“You exist inside a spring that can’t be replaced”. Thinking like this and having to experience this so young is wild. They’re only in middle school 🥲. Arima will never forget about her for the rest of his life.
I can't stop crying every time I hear her first and last confession… 😭 It's a show I love as much as Onepiece. Thank you for your reaction
I wanted more from the ending as far as the father. I know he was mentioned here and there and has been gone. I expected him to show up or something at the end but it never happened. Also I was curious about the cat. I remember in the earlier episodes the cat was talking so I'm thinking we were getting more on that. Apparently I looked too deep into the cat thing lol
This last episode didn't make me cry. Ofc I felt sad, the episode was beautifully sad. Not taking anything from the story it was a great ending. You guys were wondering what her condition was. It was never explained in the show so I looked it up and its Freidreich's Ataxia, a rare genetic disease causing progressive nerve damage, muscle weakness, and heart problems.
"It's a terrible day for rain"
“I hope Fruits Basket isn’t as sad as this” I feel so bad for Ron lmao ✌🏾💔
You guys have officially watched almost all of my top 10 shows In my top 5 you have Naruto, Rezero, Clannad, Your Lie in April, and Made in Abyss Guess we need Made in Abyss or Clannad next lol
clannad is something else man
Thank you, you both, Michelle and Ron, for watching this show and sharing your reactions to it! This show is one of my most formative shows, a show that has influenced me greatly in terms of how I’ve come to understand myself and others in my life. I found some affirmation in your reactions. 🙏🏼🥹🤗
The thing that Arima and Tsubaki didn’t know was actually the fact that Tsubaki was in love with Arima The lie which Kaori told was that she was in love with Watari so that she could get closer to Arima and also not get in between Arima and Tsubaki No one but her knew about this lie
W reaction!! Good thing you guys watched this after the stream lol
I get what you mean Ron about « liking » sad stuff or not! Personally I get touched way more by tragic stories rather than happy ones (wether it’s anime/movies/games) but when sometimes I avoid certains shows/movies on purpose because I’m like « I know where this goes, this is sad as hell I don’t need to watch this I’m fine why would I want to not be fine » lol… Graves of the fireflies is the saddest movie I’ve ever seen, I would never watch it again yet it was insanely good. Just like the (short) manga Horizon is the saddest sh!t I’ve ever read in my whole life (kinda similar to graves of the fireflies actually), both phenomenal pieces but I’d never want to experience it again, once is enough.
The Lie😭😭😭🥹🥹🥹 Watching this with you guys as an adult hits so much harder, the tearss Thank you for watching this, you guys are amazing💕
Think Ron said it last episode but this show is so beautifully sad. Everytime I listen to Kousei reading the letter, I still tear up. Thanks for watching this, I hope yall enjoyed as much as I did the first time watching
Time to watch lovely complex
Yup, 10/10 I’m not crying you’re crying
So glad yall got to experience this masterpiece I’ve watched every April for the past 7 years now and I don’t think I’ll ever let an April pass without watching it
this is peak !!!!! so good omg
I somehow timed this perfectly. I watched the previous reaction and hoped this would show up soon after. It's been like 10 years since I watched this episode, so I'm looking forward to seeing it again with you guys.
I’ve been waiting for this
