Door Interactions Mod
A closed door can be comfort, curiosity, romance, or drama — now your Sims can actually play it out.
✨This mod adds new interactions to doors so your Sims can Knock, Check On Sim, Eavesdrop, Late Night Knock, or Bang on Door when your sims lives get a little intense.
Whether it’s a check-in, someone listening a little too closely, a late night visit, or a Sim refusing to be ignored, each interaction comes with custom popups, buffs, and outcomes to help bring more storytelling into your game. Watch Video here
✨Eavesdrop Is Unlocked instead of being limited to only certain situations or specific door types. Sims can sneak up to a door, listen in, and try to uncover secrets easier!
✨How This Mod Works✨
Click on a door to access new storytelling interactions like Knock, Check On Sim, Eavesdrop, Late Night Knock, and Bang on Door.
Depending on the interaction, you may be asked to choose a sim inside the room. From there, the mod can trigger custom popups, moodlets, and responses. Sims can check on someone behind a closed door, listen in, show up late at night, or bang on the door.
🚪Check On Sim lets your Sim use a door to see if someone inside is okay. It’s built more for storytelling than random chaos: your Sim chooses someone in the room, checks in on them, and the moment can play out like concern, reassurance, awkward timing, or emotional support.
A parent checking on their teen.
A friend making sure someone is okay after a rough day.
A partner stopping by the room to comfort them.
A nosy Sim checking in when something feels off.
Some little story ideas😏
🔥Late Night Knock lets Sims show up at another Sim’s door after hours and hope for the best. If the Sim inside is into it (where ever you want your story to go) , they might let them in for a private late-night steamy make out session that can completely shift the mood between them. Who knows where this night will take them?
But if the vibe is wrong? The Sim inside can deny them at the door and yell at them to leave. Not every late-night visit ends well — and that’s the point.
💥Bang on the Door is the more dramatic version of a regular knock. Instead of checking in, the Sim bangs on the door like they’re upset, impatient, or desperate to be let in. It’s for story moments where a Sim is trying to get someone’s attention right now — after an argument, late at night, during drama, or when they’re not feeling so nice.
The Sim inside the room has the power to decide how the interruption ends.(Actually you do but you get it..) After someone bangs on their door, they can either open it and deal with the situation face-to-face, or refuse to let the other Sim in. If they open the door, it feels like they’re getting the confrontation over with instead of ignoring it. If they deny the visit, the Sim outside is left standing there more mad than they was to begin with.
✨Important Notes✨
Your sim MUST be invited inside the house first for it to all work! At first this was a INDOOR ONLY mod but it can work on front doors. Think of this mod as a scene setter. Its not an override! It will not unlock homes for you. Its for scenes the game doesn't have for our stories!
Not every door in the game may show the new interactions. Some doors use different tuning, object types, or special routing, so compatibility can vary depending on the door.
Make sure you click the side of the door you want your sim to knock from. Certain doors it can switch up!

is there a way to use this without the packs? like do some features work or is there a base game version, i have other packs but unfortunately not these ones but i would love to have this gameplay
hi so this mod is great, but it's been giving me some trouble. In my rental units, it keeps making random doors in the unit to be the front door, and like half of the usual interactions for the door, like "set as front door", "lock for", "no trespassing..." are not there ;( not sure what to do other than remove the mod :(((
Hmm I'm sorry you're' having these issues. I haven't ran into any of these using the mod, but of course if it's conflicting with your game please remove!
Hi, I really love this mod and it's concept, but unfortunately the text doesn't appear for me. When I click on a door, the mod icons appear, but without the text... just the image. And when I start one, the Moodlet appears without text after.. I have all the requirements, I wanted to know if it's just me and if it could be related to incompatibilities with other mods.
I went in and double checked the mod. I'm not having the same issues unfortunately. Everything appears for me. You may have a mod that conflicts with it. Check any door mods and if you use littlemssam lock door mods, update those too. Keep me updated!

Hi and thank you for this new amazing mod! I'm a French translator and have translated your mod ; however some texts show in my game but not in the US strings so I can't translate them, such as the notification with "the mood shifted". Do you have any idea on how to fix this? I know you're a new modder so I guess it might not be that easy tho, hope I can help^^' I could also notice that all Sims showed when using the custom interactions so I guess a test should be added, but I'm not a modder so I'm sorry I can't tell how to do that^^' TY for advance <3

First of all, I just wanted to say I absolutely love this mod 🥹 I’m currently working on a Russian translation for it and noticed that some of the popup/dialog text seems to be written directly in the .py script instead of using STBL strings. Most of the mod translates perfectly through STBL, but a few things like dialog popups and notifications (for example “OPEN THE DOOR NOW!!” and some of the conversation responses) don’t seem to appear in the string table, so they stay in English in-game. I was wondering if it might be possible to move those lines to STBL references in a future update? It would make localization support a lot easier for translators 💛
I made it with ChatGPT, but I think it's not really convenient. If you want, I can share updated py file with you (and a separate package file with RU strings).

Hi! I added this mod to my game and I really love the animations and the overall idea! But there are a few things I wanted to mention: 1. When selecting the interactions Check On Sim, Late Night Knock, and Bang on Door, the Sim selection window shows ALL Sims, horses, and pets from my save (including hidden households!), instead of only the family living in that house. 2. My Sim does not know anyone living in this house, but the actions Check On Sim, Late Night Knock, and Bang on Door are still available. I guess Bang on Door being available makes sense, because maybe I have some reason to loudly knock on someone’s door 😅 Although… I’m not sure. But offering emotional support to someone I don’t know or showing up for a late-night visit feels unusual. 3. If I choose the normal Knock interaction, my Sim just knocks and nothing happens. 4. I selected Late Night Knock for a Sim living in that house (from the window showing all Sims). A “Kiss” interaction appeared, but my Sim waves her hands and cannot route to the target. The door remains locked, even though I accepted the interaction from Liberty Lee’s side. Maybe this is intended behavior, I’m not sure, but I decided to mention it just in case. Update: I tested the mod without any other mods installed. The only things in my Mods folder were this mod and XML Injector.
Hii thanks for the feedback! You have to remember this mod is for storytelling, though you can use it for gameplay but like me i set up my scenes. This is basically what it is. None of it is autonomous so you'll never see a random sim banging on your door, its not made for that. The just knock was completely intentional. sometimes you just need to knock on your bosses door before entering her office, or maybe your locked in a closet and knocking could be your sims way of escape. Its all endless storytelling in the end.
