Windows Batch script: check Git for updates, then pull if any available (Designed for LR2)
I made this script for Lab Rats 2, since I cloned the Development branch of the fan-forked "Reformulate" into a playable game folder. The problem with that is that git only manages its own files, and as a Ren'Py game, it has .rpyc cache files. If you don't delete those, it can cause errors - particularly if the pull removes any files, since the cached copies will still be loaded into the game.
The flow is thus:
do a `git pull --dry-run` and save the results to a logfile
Check the logfile size (it will be empty if there are no updates)
do `git pull` to grab updates
delete those .rpyc files!
run the game
Since it's a batch file, you can easily remove those last two steps (use any text editor to edit the file) and adapt it to any Git repo.
The file is attached. Just drop it in your base repo folder and run!
