Devlog
Hello everyone! This is gonna be a quick devlog, and it comes not long after the last one, but I couldn't wait to share the latest news with you.
Cuckoo Mask's main story has now been fully implemented! 🥳🥳🥳 A friend managed to import all of the game's dialogue incredibly quickly, saving me from having to copy and paste every single line myself, so the whole process went by much faster than expected.
What now?
The work isn't over yet, but I can finally afford to slow down a little!
Here's what's left to do:
Turn around 30 placeholder sketches into finished illustrations.
Do extensive bug testing.
Update a few smaller things, such as the title screen and the initial character selection.
Finish writing the final scene of Cat Mask's route, and then her route will be complete as well.
Implement and test the new game menu (a programmer is working on it, though the heat has slowed things down). It includes the Ero Status system, so I'll need to make sure everything works properly.
Realistically, that means Cuckoo Mask could be finished by September, assuming nothing unexpected happens. It's nice to finally be at a point where I can take things a little more calmly.
I might even reconsider adding Deer Route, which I had originally planned to cut. The problem is that feminization isn't a fetish I'm familiar with or particularly interested in, it was something the original writer wanted to include. Now that they're no longer on the project, I don't really feel capable of writing scenes that would do the concept justice. I'm hoping I can find another writer who can help with that. If not, it could always become DLC later on.
What's next for me?
First of all, I'll keep working on Cuckoo Mask so we can wrap it up and release it on Steam in October!
Now I'll finally be able to spend a bit more time on Artificial Blood, implementing Damien's and Eadric's scenes. I can even start planning the scenes between Lucille and Azaleth.
See you next week for more updates!

Did your friend teach you how to import large amounts of dialogue quickly like that in game? That seems like it would be a very useful development skill for future games lol
I don’t want to sound pessimistic, but how sure are we this friend didn’t use AI to do it that fast? Like I’m not accusing them, but I’m also not not accusing them? Just want to be sure. Like I know Hassel probably wouldn’t but I don’t want someone taking advantage of them since it’s Hassel’s project so regardless Hassel would receive the backlash from “public opinion” or whatever. People won’t care if Hassel knew or not.
