Savior is an ambitious but uneven season premiere. It effectively establishes a darker, more superhero-oriented direction for Season 9. Clark’s refusal to change the past and save Jimmy demonstrates growth in his understanding of the consequences of altering destiny, but Jor-El points out the limitation in Clark’s approach: a true hero must struggle with loss rather than simply avoid it. Overall, I agree with Tom that the premiere succeeds more as a setup for the season than as a fully satisfying standalone episode. A noticeable continuity omission is the complete absence of any exchange between Lois and Chloe about Jimmy’s death. This is particularly striking because elsewhere in the episode, Jimmy’s death is explicitly central to Clark and Chloe’s conversation.
I think this episode deserves more roses. This is the start of a new area of episodes and seasons, it has to be a lot of questions they are solved time after time and kept us watching! But I’m glad there are more than only one roses or worse. See you. RF-AHOTS! 💖🖖
A fitting rating for a fine season premiere! - Keep up the AWESOME work! Please don't allow anyone's unenlightened words to stop you guys from concluding the show. Your hard work on this podcast, despite all the obstacles and hindrances, is highly appreciated!
Great rating! It’s a great premiere! It’s not the best one we’ve had, but great!!
The People have declared. Perfect score for the start to an epic season 9. Next episode Metallo will be an more fun episode.
Well y'all know me I loved this episode! Would have liked a little more love but it does set up what will be an epic season!!!!!!
Sounds about right. Happy Labor day everybody
I accept this rating! ❤️ Yes, for some of us we'd rate it higher or lower, but I think it was a good season opener in terms of planting a bunch of seeds that will continue to grow and take shape later. Is it perfect? No. Are there iconic moments coming up? Absolutely. Is this season roastable, in an observant yet loving way? You bet your sweet ass it is. Are the upcoming Clois moments (both present and future) loving, complicated, and feral? Oh yeah. 🫦
You had me at feral Heather lol!!!!!!
Glad it got a great deal of love❤️💙💛🤘
It definitely was a powerful season opener.
As for the results of this episode i gave it just 1 🌹 solely for the Lois/ Clark romance taking shape and Clark truly committing to his mission and because things were a bit all over the place.
Decent start to the season. There are lots of ups and downs this season, but overall I like the character developments.
That's a decent average patron score. Just 2 more days until a new episode of Talkville! I wonder if they'll have a patron segment this week. Unless the patron that was interviewed for it wants to let us know that they'll be in this next episode? I finished watching the series recently for the second time. I have watched my favorite episodes a few times but the first time I watched the whole series was when it first aired.
Which one is your favorite?
Not my favorite episode but a good kick off to a great season.
About where I rated it (1.5 roses)
Wow actually higher than I thought. I have it 🌹. I’m planning to go higher for Metallo as I dug that one, not sure if I’m alone in that haha.
Not sure where I am. I've always been iffy on Metallo as character, especially being old enough to remember his "appearance" in Lois and Clark, which was...lackluster at best
Solid rating for a not soo solid start to a great season. Looking forward for what’s coming.
The people have spoken! 🌹 Happy Labor Day to all who celebrate! See you all Wednesday!
You too Michael P. I’m “celebrating” by doing absolutely nothing, which is usually very difficult 😂
