I don't remember this I must have stopped watching by this point . Back then if you missed season 1 . You couldn't go back an catch up . The would re run the last season in the summer .

This show is so good, rewatching this with y'all I found myself hating Ana Lucia again like on my first watch because I totally forgot her backstory. Love that this show can still surprise even a huge fan like myself lol
definitely one of my favorite episodes in terms of getting a better understanding of Ana Lucia as a character and like you said why certain things trigger her. Honestly as crazy as she was in present time during this episode, I still liked her character a lot. Because by this point we already had a better understanding of why she was so distrusting of Jin Michael and Sawyer with how many people they kidnapped, with Goodwin…and I just love Michelle Rodriguez as an actress. but another reason why this is my favorite when it comes to episode endings, is the whole reunion of Bernard and Rose, and my favorite couple in the entire show, Jin and Sun. Also they reuse a lot of the music during certain scenes but I NEVER get tired of them during Lost. The perfect combination of that music with Bernard and Rose, plus Jin and Sun reuniting makes me tear up every time. 😊

Vince is spitting so hard it is the fact they're taking their time actually setting up these characters. But also it manages to make us tear up when two characters we barely know reunite. Because we still know enough to feel it. And i absolutely agree other shows should follow suite and have more episodes. And i also gotta say that in all episode key moments the dialogues are written perfectly and the actors perform great every time. And we are technically still not super far into the show

Another show that is great at showing character backstory and development would be The Walking Dead, but only for a few characters like Rick, Michonne, The Governor and Negan, and those are very short backstories to understand who they are now. Technically, the backstory with TWD is being told with every episode you see. But yes, LOST is very unique, and I haven't really seen any show pull it off as they did.
I would also like to mention that if Ana Lucia weren't the way she is, being so distrustful and suspicious of others, Goodwin probably would have killed their whole group. At the same time, she is trigger-happy and killed Shannon. As Shoshanna said, it's not black and white... Also, in previous episodes, it was mentioned that Ana Lucia cared for the children who were taken away, and she wasn't taking any BS from anyone once the "Others" showed up.

Vince i agree ana lucia should not have been working as a patrol cop during her pregnancy that just part of the story we will have to pretend it makes sense
It is very common for pregnant female officers to work during their pregnancies and even do field work, although not recommended clearly with what we have just witnessed. But it's not a plot hole as you might be suggesting.

I think Ana Lucia was asked previously whether she had kids and there was a long pause before she said no which made me believe she had lost a child

10/10 episode- the ost at the end "the gathering" is soooo peak and it wouldnt be lost if even this happy moment didnt end on a bitter sweet note caused by the circumstances of the reunification
The soundtrack is a character on its own right. Some shows have their OST elevate the feeling so much, like Lost and BSG.
That's shows that Sayid wins the battle from Mr Eko shows what that strength can bring while u're girl just been shot.
