The actress change changed the whole vibe of the show for me. the personality of the character is completely different from the original actress. Some people are okay with it but i am not and i dont buy the argument there was a time lapse so she had to look older.

As you guys frequently come across snakes in movies and series do you not think that exposure theory (systematically confronting the feared stimulus in a safe, controlled environment to break the cycle of anxiety and avoidance) might be something that might help shoshana's ophidiophobia? Might even be a good yt video if u decide to make one.

Do you think you guys would be able to watch the Odyssey

Exactly 10 year have passed between episode 5 and 6. Rhaeneyra went from 17 years old to 27 years old. It's kind of necessary to tell the story this way. The book this show is based on is written like a history book, sourcing several unreliable narrators with different biases (aka informed gossip). It covers quite a few years of time and is not like a traditional story book. It's a bit jarring at first but I think it's unavoidable in this case, you'll settle in again in time.

Just fyi for the next seasons if you care to consider it and read this comment, but the actor who plays Rhaenyra is non binary. When talking about the person, not the character, their pronouns are they/them. :)

I love this season as a whole. Pre time skip and post time skip, without the first five episodes the second half wouldn’t be so meaningful in a lot of ways

In the books, larys might be a shapeshifter, that’s why they show rats everywhere, it is like as he can see through their eyes

Well be prepared because s1 it’s the time jumping season, it’s setting up the war for the succession , and our boy viserys it’s a warrior

That isn't Jason on the council - it's Tyland. They are twins!

Damn alicent pettiness it’s too much, if only she would accept that proposition 🤣

Honestly there are some insane proposals by the standards of the world of Game of Thrones being suggested that if you are aware of how rare such proposals are just make you irritated with the stubborness or poor priorities of some of these factions lol.

This couldl have been episode 1 but they really wanted you to know Daemon losing his heirdom and Alicent/Rhaenyras relationship prior. Now that theres actively 3 seasons, Milly(the original Rhaenyra actress) is nostalgic to me but back when I was where yall are it was hella weird. If theres any consolation, they hired the older Rhaenyra first because she better fit where the Rhaenyra characters goes. Also theres more time jumps but only a FEW more actor changes. Rhaenyra and Daemon and Alicent dont change again though.

I think this was a good way to go about the timeline, some criticisms of later seasons notwithstanding. I read a good bit about this from interviews and apparently there were 3 groups on where to start. George Martin wanted to start when earlier than episode one, like a good bit earlier., Condal wanted it this way, and either HBO or someone else I forget wanted it to start with them as adults. I think it's really important you see them younger and see these important and relevant events and how they transform the families and the kingdom over time. It's amplifies, deepens and contextualizes it all while not spending too long on it or trying to explain it in dialogue. It is definitely a bit jarring at first but I think that's unavoidable, especially given how standout the younger cast was in this. Right when you really start settling in with them, timeskip.

Season 1 is the only one with timejumps.

Nah Lord Strong a certified good one cause arranging a marriage is one thing but bastard sons to the heir of the throne is a totally different thing altogether

Y’all crack me up! A grown up doesnt change that much at least not to be unrealistic to look similar in 10 yrs. A teenager would and that’s what the princess and queen were.

God damn I hate Alicent dude 😂🤦🏽‍♂️ like it’s so sad these kids are clearly close to each other and have a cousinly relationship and she is poisoning them to hate their own cousins

V
Valor · October 9, 2026

I love alicent

S
Simon · October 9, 2026

“Why doesn’t he have a dragon already” so his dragon egg never ended up hatching with him when he was a baby, so now he has to claim a riderless dragon if he ever wants one

R
Raden · October 9, 2026

Lol, if you didn't know the time jump was coming its very jarring. Love their reaction not knowing everyone was gonna change actors😂

M
Mark · October 9, 2026

Time jump. First 6 episodes of this series are a bit of a backstory to the meat and potatoes. This story covers a much longer period of time than Game of Thrones.

D
DRIP DROP · October 9, 2026

Time skip is so much better lol

S
Simon · October 9, 2026

So there was a 10 year time jump, the actors for every younger character has changed
