The song that Shannon was singing at the end is the end credit song of Finding Nemo but in french, called "Le Mer" - that's why she said it was a cartoon about fish (what she meant to say was it's an animated movie). Finding Nemo came out a few years before Lost, so it makes sense they would be referencing it. Laurent must have been a young kid who liked watching Finding Nemo.

That beginning scene reminded me how procedural cop shows start after the screen went black I was half expecting there to be do and medical examiners there lol. Yeah I'm going to need more of Kate's backstory and more Claire

Welcome to network TV. You have 22+ episodes a season so some of them will have to be “filler”. But even the filler episodes have some character development, which is why I love this show.

I’m old enough to remember shows from this time. The seasons used to be so long it took a lot time to build the stories. People are so use to the streaming era. 12 episodes. I’m along for the ride. Feels like a throwback

If you want to hear it in English it was popularized by Bobby Darin and called 'Beyond the Sea'. and I believe that is the one that plays during the credits of the movie.

The show wanted to show Kate been in the gym lol. It's season 1 I get it . That opening scene. They trying to build something with Kate and Sawyer .

Lets not collectively pretend that 24 ep seasons was the best thing ever.. the whole Netflix-era 8 eps per season thing is a joke, but the happy medium would be somewhere in between - 12-16 or so. LOST is tentpole television, and a modern classic.. but it got bogged down a lot at certain points due to the overall ep count.

please, why would a double gov agent rob a bank with some punks? lmao i dont know but it seems to me Kate has alot of guilt over what happen to her boyfriend, and did not want any questions about it, right why would anyone ask about the plane, well its a touchy subject obviously and she does not like people getting close to her to know the deeper stuff.

okayyy so i’ve finally been able to catch up with these episodes with y’all & im totally into the show 🔥🔥 —— favorite characters so far have to be Micheal & his son along with a little bit of Sawyer.. Locke is up there too but imma let the story cook more

The writers got some of the pacing off in this section of the show. They even admitted it. Keep in mind shows back in the day would take more time for characterization than shows nowadays. Its all worth it.

I am not religious and people take that in many ways like they have to convince or something or that I think its lesser but I think its a beautiful way to create community and love and Rose is the epitome of that love

Echoing what others have said here, the pacing is definitely different in a 24 episode season compared to what we're used to today, and this episode feels like whiplash after how last episode was all gas no brakes on the island and in the flashback. I do think the writers kind of dragged their heels with Kate's backstory trying to figure things out as they went, though things do improve as the show goes. If there is a low point to season 1, this was it lol it's all up from here! Also if you want to hear the English version of the French song, it's called Beyond the Sea and Bobby Darin probably sings the most well known version of it. If anyone has played Bioshock, it will sound very familiar

You pointed out how the show likes to take its time, and yes its true, back then the norm was 22 to 24 episodes per season (which I honestly prefer) They used to take the time to build a relationship between the characters and the audience These days most shows are way too short and takes way too long between seasons, making the audience care way too less.

This is the lowest rated episode from season 1. It felt a bit like a filler episode, as if last episode didnt happen at all. But with episodes like this, i always get more attached to the characters wich makes a good series imo.

Man, I hate Wednesdays. But only because once I've watched the episode, I know I have to wait until Monday for the next episode.

The show was filmed in Hawaii, almost everything was filmed in Oahu, Hawaii.

y'alls reaction is making me so greedy cause seeing you this engaged this early i almost wish i didnt know what was coming shit has me giggling like a schoolgirl. And using common sense we all can deduct that with a 121 episode show, at roughly 10% we will definitely not even remotely have climaxed, not even for this season... ima already say i can't wait for ep 18, 19 and 20. back to back bangers although we will have to wait a week in between which reminds me, with 3 eps a week and this season having 25 episodes the last 3 being a 3-parter i think its best to move the schedule so you do one episode less the week before, instead of doing 1x22-24 then 1x25-2x2 but aye however you please in the end it drops when it drops

Letsgoo, last episode was way too much of an cliffhanger. Also regarding the shooting location, the entire show is shot in Hawaii!
