Wooooow! This is my second time ever watching this and I certainly cried and appreciated a whole lot more. I was a kid when I watched this for the first time, no wonder it went over my head. And yes, they don't write stories like this anymore, SO UNIQUE AND BEAUUUUUUTIFUL 😭❤️
the intro of this movie reminds me of Succesion, the amazing TV show I hope one day they react to.
I find it so poetic and beautiful that the ultimate experience Joe get's to experience as being human is actually learning to let go and feel loss, giving up his love
close family members kissing on the lips, is very common over here in Europe. its nothing sexual, its a bit like a hug
To me this movie is sooo much more than a romance movie.. it has deeper meaning.. I really dont think of it as romance, it is more about life & love, and a love not just between man & woman but family. And it always surprises me when reactors trip about the family members kissing lol.. I forget not everyone does it. It is common where I'm from. My sweet Mam Maw, God rest her soul, still would peck me on the lips when she hugged me bye. And if you haven't watched Legends of the Fall, that is a MUST! You getting top tier Brad Pitt in that one! Anthony Hopkins is in it has well. Such a great movie. Just make sure you have tissues!

Different cultures and family's are more kiss friendly. Amongst certain demographics. Also kissing in Europe is much more common and is like a hug. When you were talking about angels being jealous of humans. That was one of the major reasons that lucifer and the traitor angels betrayed God.
Lol the look on Vinces face when he got hit by the car is priceless
City of Angels is another good movie

Anthony Hopkins just makes everything better
One of my fav romances from the 90s. "Legends of the Fall" is another gem from the 90s which also stars Anthony Hopkins and Brad Pitt. I hope you consider adding that to the list!!!

The director of this movie (Martin Brest) also made SCENT OF A WOMAN (1992) starring Al Pacino which you guys need to see. Pacino got his 8th Oscar nomination and his only ever WIN for that film, and he just steals the show the whole way.
