Dexter (Season 8 - Episode 12)

I agree with Vince about the end. Too many writers in Hollywood are edgy lords, trying too much most of the time. The original author of the comics had something special.

I know I'm late to this but I have to say, everybody who watched this show knows that it will never end well for Dexter the show itself beats that into us. To that point as far as setting up spin offs, you guys have to remember that New Blood was released 10 YEARS later. For those ten years this was it. That's how Dexter ended. Being a fan back then and watching this was very disappointing, but I always loved the show and I do think it's one of the greats.

Everyone has their own opinions but it’s interesting y’all prefer season 6 and 8 over 5 and 6 due to the fact those are widely considered as the worst seasons of the show lol

For me Top 5 character: Doakes,Dexter,Henry, Debra,Angel! Seasons: 1-2-4-6-7-8-3-5

Yeah, if you guys think you were upset about the ending just imagine how everyone felt in 2011 watching this. We had no idea there would be a spinoff 10 years later. In fact at the time they told us they had no plans for a spinoff. People were furious.

I don't know why, but I remember Hannah dying her hair when I first watched this show. I thought she dyed it brown. 🤔 Maybe I'm just misremembering because that's what I wanted to happen. Lol

PLEASE CONTINUE THIS SERIES! NEW BLOOD IS DECENT BUT RESURRECTION IS TOP TIER! AND I PERSONALLY LOVE ORIGINAL SIN!!!

As for keeping Doakes alive, Doakes was one of the best parts of early Dexter — that raw suspicion and “motherfucker” energy made every scene crackle 😆 However, he was too rigid, too by-the-book, and too personally offended by vigilantes to ever accept Dexter the way Debra did since she was his sister and supposedly in love with him.. Doakes? He would’ve gone scorched-earth the second he had proof and probably taken Dexter down years earlier. The show gave him the perfect exit before he overstayed or got forced into an unrealistic alliance. Still miss that tension though.

It started feeling less office vibes when Maria became Lieutenant but I am glad she found out and was killed off. Angel and Quinn relationship kinda took over he and Dexter's relationship. At first I did not want to accept Deb but have kind of come to terms with it even I am sad as hell about it. I hated Hannah the first time i watched but she kinda grew on me. Quinn was always alright to me. My top supporting characters of course were Dexter, Deb and Angel. Trinity was the best villain next was Miguel and Travis. Seasons 4,3,2,1,6,5,7,8

Spin offs are quite good for Dexter especially resurrection hope you guys do both love this show even tho the ending ain’t the best but almost every show doesn’t have a good ending

by the way, if you wanna know how dexter survived A HURRICANE, the show creator said he used a "emergency life raft" lmao and this quote Although many fans found the survival unrealistic given the intensity of the hurricane, showrunner Scott Buck confirmed this was the intended method of escape, with the character enduring through "plot armor" or extreme luck

I will never.... EVER.........ever ever ever forgive these writers for what they did to Debra. The best character in the whole show, and a tremendous actress who overcame a lot of criticism and early stumbles to become a terrific performer. The character did not deserve this, and to basically have it happen off-screen and in a "haha you thought she was ok" fake out??? Nah they did her dirty AF

The season finale was hated so they came back with Dexter: New Blood which in my opinion is not that great. But Dexter: Resurrection is amazing.

I wasn't a big fan of Quinn but ended up feeling bad for him this episode. I Love Dexter..he's one of my top 5 fav characters in TV history and glad that Michael C Hall agreed to continue his journey!!! You guys did a great job reacting to Dexter and can't wait for New Blood!! Oh and my top 5 characters, Dexter Angel Doakes Masuka Debra Best Villain? Arthur Mitchell

Top characters 1 Dexter. 2 Y'all made me a fan of Doakes 3 . Debra 4 , Maria for being a good villian. Through the whole time . He sparring with Debra making Debra go to places she never thought she could . I enjoyed her and Debra journey. 5. Rita Seasons 4 2 6 7 8 1 5 3

The actor who plays Dexter is a head producer of the show. He didn't like the ending either . The Next show is him trying to get that bad taste out everyone mouth . I think you both will enjoy it.

This show won so many Emmy awards. Debra and Dexter acting was top tier . I Heard the concept during a football game . Then after episode 1 I was hooked .

My top ranking for seasons is gotta be 23145687 And top five characters in no order has got to be dex deb (so heartbreaking omgosh) vince Brian doakes. I had to include Brian in there because Vince brought up the killers. It’s a toss up between trinity and Brian though and can’t forget angel and Lundy, if I had to i would replace Vince with one of those, Lundy or Batista

Season 7 was great to me. And 3 was average. Hannah was the most important women in his life. More than Rita, and Lila. Rita never even knew the real him. In totality. 1, 4, 2, 7, 5, 6, 3, 8

Can’t wait to see you guys react to New Blood and then even possibly Dexter: Resurrection! It’s super exciting and so much fun to watch!

fun fact* threw seasons 1-3 Jennifer Karpenter (Debra ) and Michael C. Hall ( Dexter ) were married in real life and divorced due to michael not wanting kids. During half of season 4 Dexter caught cancer and used an wig throughout the rest of the season. David Zayas ( Angel) weren't always playing as Angel, his son would replace scenes for him aswell.

Also, this show wasn’t meant to have any spinoffs originally. People hated this ending season so much at the time that the original writer came back to try and end it correctly years later.

I don’t think they ever planned on a spin off. The only reason they went with New Blood was because of how popular this show got with the rise of Netflix.

Great reaction as always! Can’t believe we’ve made it through the main show!! We also had to wait 8 years for New Blood so it wasn’t an ending made for spin offs. Damn. This didn’t feel like a finale to me. And now I know why. But Deb deserved so much better. A funeral, but I get the symbolic meaning behind what they did. But doesn’t feel right dumping her body with the horrible people he put there. Can’t believe Dexter never got caught by anyone in the department. Have to watch both spinoffs now. To see how this really ends. Harrison was dealt a rough life.

Jennifer Carpenter asked to be killed off. She said she didn't want to live with the character for years and years.

It was fun going on this Dexter journey with ya’ll! My biggest complaint about Season 8 was how dumbed down everything felt, especially Dexter’s character. There was no charm to his inner monologue anymore. Dexter saying goodbye to Deb was sad to watch, but at the same time I feel her character was done dirty going out like this. There were many more complaints I had, but thankfully the one big positive to come out of all of this is Resurrection lol

another show i can say that i probably wouldn’t have watched if it wasn’t for these reactions.. W reactions through & through 🔥 — as far as the show, in my opinion it definitely had its ups & downs as far as quality & wasn’t as consistent throughout the full show but still overall very entertaining & for the ending i ain’t too mad at it.. it is what it is to me since i’m not too against the spin-off decisions

Speaking on Rita, she provided the levity to the show that wasn’t just killing, it was fun to see Dexter interact with the kids and see him try to be normal and understand human emotions from Rita and the kids, Rita also changed as well from when we first saw her to her death, she looked so tired and exhausted when we saw her and then we saw her transform to a more confident person

New blood and resurrection is very worth the watch. Just go in with an open mind and enjoy the ride.

For me personally this was one of, what we thought at the time, worst series finale ever😂 I was so mad about it, I refused to watch New Blood when they announced it but my friends said it was really good so I jumped back on the Dexter train and glad I did. Then Resurrection came out and thats my 2nd favorite Dexter season, so hope yall continue that after New Blood
