WTF...

What's even crazier is that you would think these fewer episodes are due to the pandemic, but no: finished Season 8, May of 2019.

No one's gonna talk about the Golden company being completely useless? haha

I always saw a path for Dany to go mad. Her whole life she’s had this dream of being loved and respected as Queen of a land that in reality she’s truly not a part of and has no family there. There was definitely a way to write a path where she slowly realizes this dream isn’t what she always thought it would be and she goes mad realizing it was all for nothing and her real home was probably Mereen or some other city in the east where she actually had love from the people. However, they did it in the most rushed and sloppy way possible which makes it feel as though it came out of nowhere and made no sense. Such a fumble.

Guys the S8 writing is hitting them in full force. 😂

IMO The Housemaid is really good

And Arya couldn’t propose to Daenerys bringing Cersei’s head if she didn’t burn the city ? She could have prevented this shit instead of roasting Daenerys, and btw I don’t blame either Dani nor gray worm cuz they just lost far much too recent ,it just feels fucking rush because that lame 6 episode schedule 🤘🏻

jblakk · June 5, 2026

Oh and ive said it a thousand times and ill say it once more. This episode woulda took a 180 if Jamie killed Cercei to stop her from using the wildfire as a counter on Dany. That change coulda made the episode so much better. I have forgiven most sins of this show through time and the spin offs. But the Jamie character assassination was one crime I could not and have not.

J
James Waters · June 5, 2026

The writers failed to recognise the distinction between apparent but not really foreshadowing and actual character development in this episode. I haven't watched you react to any episodes from season 7 and 8 cos frankly they depress me.

Hassan Valmont · June 5, 2026

Stupid ass season hahaha

j
jblakk · June 5, 2026

Obligatory dont let the stink of this final season affect yalls opinion of the spin offs. lol It restored alot of the bad taste this ending had.

Sadly, and I hate to say this because he created this world, this is solely on George RR Martin. You can't make promises that you don't deliver on and get upset about the issues that come from your lack of delivery. Yes, the writing in these last maybe 13 episodes is truly horrendous, but that's because the writing is built on the foundation created by one of the greatest writers in modern history. The entire writing staff was on training wheels with George RR Martin's books and the entire world seriously expected them to suddenly drive a Harley over a ramp? George told these showrunners that his book series would be done by 2014. It's 2026. Honestly, we shouldn't have believed him. The first time he promised Winds of Winter was in 1994

M
Michael Hill · June 4, 2026

She fought not to be like the mad king and turned out worst than him

T
THEbeautifuLIE · June 6, 2026

Not even close. The numbers of the dead in ONE battle (where their Queen had them mixed in so Daenerys would HAVE TO murder them to destroy the ‘bad guys’) do not tell the story of The Mad King post-Duskendale.

B
Bob · June 4, 2026

The show runners rushed the last season because they got signed on to work on a star wars series, and the author of the original books George R.R begged them to write a few more seasons to flesh it all out, but they refused.

L
LilLeaf · June 4, 2026

I dont mind how varys went but it made no sense to me that tyrion gave him up. wouldve made more sense if dany just assumed and killed him without proof idk

F
Frank One · June 4, 2026

The main problem was the author who wrote Game of Thrones never finished the books at the time this was aired. So the producers of the show were on their own to write the ending of the show. Till this day, George RR Martin still hasn’t finished the books

M
Mark · June 4, 2026

Nope HBO wanted to give them more seasons to finish the story. The two head writers got arrogant and wanted to rush to get onto their Star Wars project. Then they lost the project after rushing got. It's completely on the writers. The studio invested fully in them and they insisted on rushing it. The head writers and show runners essentially ruined their career by rushing it. I think Daenarys was always going to do this. The problem is the rushing it.

“You’re muh queen” pretty much all of johns lines.

R
Rancel Heredia · June 4, 2026

100% agree with you guys how they butchered the ending of this show. They only disappointing thing about this show was the route the writers took at the end

N
Night King01 · June 4, 2026

That one line from Jaimie completely destroyed his arc. How can he say he never really cared for the people when he literally committed high treason to stop the mad king from destroying kings landing. He sacrificed his image for the rest of his life in order to save innocents. They just destroyed any good will we had.

N
Night King01 · June 4, 2026

One of the main things about the books is that there are hints that Daenerys has it in her to be like her father. The show never even went there so it doesn’t make any sense for her to change on a dime because of the bells. Also Tyrion having nothing to do is another thing. In the book Tyrion is completely consumed by revenge after killing his dad, so even then it would make sense if he’s influencing her. In the show he’s basically relegated to a walking prop.

W
Winchester · June 4, 2026

A lot of fans believe that the last seasons of Game of Thrones were so weak because the two showrunners, Benioff and Weiss, were rushing the story to focus on their new Star Wars project. Interestingly, though, they didn't end up getting the Star Wars project either, as the backlash and criticism grew so strong.

M
Mark · June 4, 2026

Everyone was shocked that daenarys did this. I'll be honest I saw it coming from a mile away. Even in the early seasons it was clear where her head was at. I think she always displayed these tendencies and this was just years of pent up anger. She sees herself as greater than other people. She wants to evaporate the old world to create something beautiful. Just like every dictator that has ever existed in history. In her head she's doing the right thing. Normal people with a heart can't understand it. But I assure you there are people like this now and throughout history.

J
Jo-El Brown · June 18, 2026

Couldn’t agree more.

Jo · June 4, 2026

Game of thrones went from being a cultural phenomenon that everyone talked about on Monday morning to a show that people were embarrassed to say they watched within a span of like a month. It's actually pretty impressive how quickly they were able to ruin the show.

T
THEbeautifuLIE · June 6, 2026

Literally, no one is ashamed for having experienced this journey😅 Y’all just say anything now🤣

Eli · June 4, 2026

I actually don’t hate the idea of Danny going mad bc like Vince said there’re been moments throughout the show when we kinda see Danny’s tyrant side (hanging all the masters, burning the Sam’s family), also the Bran’s vision of Drogon’s shadow in Kings Landing and the iron throne covered in ash/snow were always sort of foreshadowing for me that it wasn’t gonna be a happy ending. And in my mind the only thing that was stopping her from going full Mad King earlier were the people around her (Jorah, Missandrei, Tyrion), and it kinda makes sense that she went crazy after losing them, but the writers have done a terrible job showing it imo.

T
Tripp · June 4, 2026

I’m not going to shit on a show that got 66/67 out of 73 episodes right. There’s been shows that got multiple seasons wrong that don’t get shit on like this. It’s hard to make any great show last past 6 seasons especially with what this show gives. So I’m happy I checked it out after putting it off for years. Can’t wait to see how it ends.

K
KASA · June 4, 2026

I agree having Arya killing Cersei kinda. So Arya sneaks into the Red Keep with one of her masks. She’s about to cripple Cersei when Jaime storms in. He tries to talk her down, telling her not to do it. Arya doesn’t back off though but looks at him and says something like, “Bran told me what you did. You pushed him from the tower, made him a cripple. So now I’ll cripple her.” Then she goes ahead and breaks Cersei’s leg, leaving her screaming on the floor. Jaime charges at her and they fight with her killing him. Cersei crawls over to his body, crying and holding him, while Arya just watches. Arya steps forward, ready to finish Cersei off completely, but then Drogon shows up. The ground shakes, Daenerys is right there, and Arya realizes what’s about to happen. She slips away into the shadows before Drogon burns both Cersei and Jaime together. Booom block buster death. Way better than what I just watched lol.

Justin M Borowski · June 4, 2026

I'm so sorry you guys had to see this, but there was no way to prepare you for how truly awful this season was... it simply has to be experienced first hand. This was the episode where the glass finally broke. and we still have 1 more to go.

J
Justin M Borowski · June 4, 2026

The creators of the show were DONE with the show. They were tired of it. They mailed it in. GRRM and HBO wanted to do 10-12 seasons and they wanted 12 episodes per season. Dan and Dave said "no thanks" and ended the show early so they could write the next Star Wars trilogy, and then they got fired after GOT final season was such a disaster that nobody wanted them anymore, until Netflix paid them to make a shitty version of the 3 body problem

Â
Âčẽ · June 4, 2026

Also sorry but Cersei had the weakest death in this show. Not even a final confrontation between them. Just gets crushed under the red keep😂😂🤦‍♂️

D
DSJ. · June 4, 2026

The only thing this season has going for it is how amazing it looks, even compared to earlier seasons. And maybe also some beautiful acting moments, even if the context and writing behind them suck.

D
DSJ. · June 4, 2026

Seasons 1-4, damn near perfection. S5-6 - rocky, but still with a lot of good stuff. S7 - half and half, but on the way down. S8 - let's not even talk about it...

mikekillam · June 4, 2026

I guess we'll never know, but Daenarys' turn to madness probably would have "felt better" if they didn't rush through this final season. In the span of a very short time she lost two dragons, Jorah, Missandei, and most of her armies. Everything she had built from the very beginning. Her children, her guardian, her best friend, and the people she liberated. She can't trust the man she loves. She can't trust any of her allies. She can't even trust her own advisors. Daenarys is cooked--mentally and emotionally. This would have and should have broken any character. It's not a bad arch in the right hands. Had it actually been written and adapted from George R.R. Martin and given multiple seasons to breath and develop it likely would have been great. But instead they killed all of those characters and tried to cram her mental unraveling into like three episodes. It's awful.

S
Simon · June 4, 2026

One of my main things about this season, Cerseis death should’ve been so much better (or worse if you wanna put it). We watched so many amazing characters die in such messed up ways, Ned gets his head chopped, rob stabbed and betrayed, Caitlyn got her throat slit, that bitch Cersei needed her throat slit 🤣

T

Better death than Sersi deserved.

Â
Âčẽ · June 4, 2026

8 seasons of building Daenerys up taking 2 huge armies and rasing 3 dragons under her wing for a takeback of the throne. Only for her to just obliterate King's Landing with 1 dragon and go against everything she stood for 🤦‍♂️.Biggest fumble in TV history

D
DSJ. · June 4, 2026

And Varys and Tyrion becoming bona fide idiots - what a betrayal of their characters! Even Littlefinger, horrible as he is, was way smarter earlier in the show than in season 7, but for convenience they made him dumber and got rid of him.

D
DRIP DROP · June 4, 2026

Good observation about Varys. It was completely out of character for him to act like that

A
Ahmad Pattonbey · June 4, 2026

I somewhat understood that one because all he has cared about was the betterment of the realm and he clearly thought she would turn into her father.

C
Caleb · June 4, 2026

Although i do believe it was always grrm intention to write daenerys into madness, the way they did it in the show was just insulting, to us and to her character

J

W

Dany and Grey Worm, both going totally crazy. Shadow of Drogon on the city, was part of the vision Bran had seasons ago.

N
Night King01 · June 4, 2026

Maybe its too obvious to say that they didn’t care at this point but they couldn’t even bother with basic continuity. Enron’s crew is mute. There tongues have been cut out by him, yet they constantly have background audio of them talking.

J
Justin M Borowski · June 4, 2026

They never remotely discussed that in the show and the show never followed the books exactly. For all their sins of laziness and poor writing, this isn't a continuity error, just an adaptational difference
