EmuDeck Android update - Bob Edition
EDIT: The release is public now, the GitHub issue seems to have fixed by itself.
Hello everyone! Here comes some fixes for Android!
- Removed RA Cores download, this speeds up installation. We now indicate which cores are essential and steer the user to use the better RA own Core downloader .
- Switched to Pegasus Stable, this fixes Pegasus not installing
- AetherSX2 replaced with NetherSX2
- Added default themes: EpicNoir, ES-Simple, Retro Mega Next and COLORFUL.
- Fixed issues launching DS and N64 games
- Streamlined installation process.
Known bugs and stuff missing but coming in the future:
- Option to install Yuzu EA
- Install additional emulators
- Bezel and aspect ratio selectors
- Missing logos / artwork in the bundled themes.
-Pegasus Artwork Parser (distant future)
- Some Emulators are not frontend friendly, so you might need to launch the game twice
Using other launchers besides Pegasus
- Not a new feature or a bug , but since we use the same rom folder structure as ESDE, if you install EmulationStation by yourself you can just use it out of the box with EmuDeck. Since their developers are charging money for ESDE for Android, we can't add this app as our default launcher. Daijisho doesn't allows for automation so you can use it if you want but you'll need to manually set it up. Pegasus is the only Launcher that allow us to automate it's configuration, hence why it is the default.

Emudeck made the Pegasus metadata txt files but for some reason I had to manually add them all from the emulation ROM directories, is that normal?
Nope, it should be added automatically to Pegasus
Last update emudeck have issue. Can t choose any game because every button from steam deck has a double function. When you want to move one position, it always moves two positions. You cant even get into menu because it pressing twice so it enter and exit always. Steam deck LCD, windows 11. Please help.

Hi, I know this is for Android, but I had a question.
The Asus Rog Ally seems to be not playing the Dolphin games. But plays other high end emulators. Is this a bug or am I not doing something correctly? After opening Dolphin and choosing the disc file, it warns me that some games might crash, but all 7 of the games I have are not even loading. They just crash after choosing them. 😅

You need to download EmuDeck Windows, and install it from there.
So, I took out my Anbernic RG 353M. Connected it, it installed. Now I just a front end of Pegasus, what do I need to do to get ES? Not a big fan of going into each emulator to start a game... Also, It's a nice thought that Yuzu would play Switch games on this device but, I think the max is DreamCast and Saturn games....
ESDE is a paid app($6), you have to get it on the Amazon Store by yourself. Remember, we are not the developers of ESDE so nothing we can do about that. That's why we install Pegasus, so you can use it instead of ESDE.

Not an APK, You need to install from the Windows version.
Any update on a macOS installer?
well... ESDE's developer won't allow us to use EmulationStation on our patreon builds so that's on pause until we found a good parser for Pegasus on Mac
