EmuDeck 2.5 EA - Eden

Here comes a new emulator! This like any other yuzu fork is a Bring Your Own. This is now available for both Windows and SteamOS / Linux.

Read in Manage Emulators -> Eden for instructions in how to set up this emulator.

This also includes a small change on CloudSync Linux, if during a game session we detect that no game was uploaded then a force upload will occur when closing the emulator, this should help with some Bazzite issues you've been having. This only works in emulators when you exit using SELECT + START

Work in 3.0 is going well, cloudSync is also being rewritten so it should work fine with Bazzite out of the box.

See you in the next update!

windows? there is a typo in the Manage emulators section, the proper location is USERFOLDER/AppData/Roaming/EmuDeck/Emulators/eden-windows-msvc/

Hey guys! Seems like EmuDeck doesn't autoconfigure Eden in any way. I've manually installed it to the correct location on Windows, I set it as the default emu in ES-DE, and I've gone through the settings in Eden to set as many folders as I can to the /Emulation/storage/eden/ folder (sdmc, nand, dump, load, tas, etc.). What else is recommended? Are there "official" recommended settings or anything? Anything else to do for better integration?

in windows version of emudeck, the instruction to install eden says to put the emulator in ...EmuDeck/Emulators/eden-windows-msvc/ but the script to load the emulator looks for the exe in ...EmuDeck/Emulators/eden/eden-windows-msvc/ (with an "eden" folder before eden-windows-msvc) this took me a while to figure out, culd you please fix it?

How do I make EMU deck recognize the Citron.AppImage? I want to have cloud backups available.

No ability to select Eden as alternate switch emulator in ES-DE. How do I do this?

I can't get Eden to run any games or the emulator itself from steam. Emulator's exe runs fine, and games launch via the Eden emulator no problem. Successfully implemented prod.keys, and firmware. So something seems broken on emudeck's end. I reset srm's configuration, reparsed, and still nothing of Eden launches within Steam. This is tested on windows 11. Gonna try on SteamOS in a bit.

Nope, hopefully they can fix this soon. Should be an easy fix, I would assume. Also, SteamOS doesn't impliment Citron in the Emudeck app. Followed the guide on the website perfectly. It's named properly and is in the applications directory with the rest. Emudeck in SteamOS does not recognize the appimage at all.

Silly question, if we move from Yuzu/Citron to Eden (rumored to be the best next to the OG Yuzu), will saves import in?

J
Jeff B · May 12, 2025

I think Eden imports or helps move your saves for you. You just need to supply the keys and firmware.

I've noticed a positive improvement in the performance on newer hardware. This emu is promising.

Good to hear....

Honestly is it even worth using these other forks anymore , literally nothing much has changed since their removal

If you only play a few games and they are kinda old then no, but if you plan to play anything new when they come out or even newer already released games you will need the forks as Ryujinx and Yuzu will or have glitches that won't be fixed and imo even tho it is a steam deck I get better performance with Eden unlike Ryubing which just feels like UI updates.

Tested the pre alpha yesterday and I am disappointed. My test for any secret console emulation fork is to see how it handles Little Prince Boy Cries of the Monarchy. It performs the same as Citron with some minor QOL changes like moving the motion binding button a little higher and to the right. And worse, it also seems to have the same memory issues when running the said game. Waste of time and energy to use this over something already set up.
