I think about Reiko she's too intelligent and uses their enemy's thoughts against them like her partners who thinks too narrowly and primitively compared to her who is playing chess with them. But I bet she would have no chance against the family of 5 and would knew it at the very moment they are in her range.

I like questions that Parasyte asks. Like what makes humans humans? What's the difference between us and animals? Does intellect makes animals (in this case parasytes) become more humane? I adore this show for this

Does Luke know the original manga was published 1988-1995? It explains some of the tropes and inspirations. In many regards Parasyte was ahead of its time for example discussing nature questions and humans role in the ecosystem. I think its important to keep the original time context in mind as the series continues.

In the live action movie(s) this 3 on 1 is wonderful. BTW, I recently learned that the director of the live action Parasyte movies has another movie out right now. Some about a lizard doing arithmetic... (Godzilla Minus One) And now... the quiet, setup episodes are done. The NEXT episode is where Parasyte truly begins. (I see this type of comment so often! Drives me crazy)

Oh and in the last reaction you asked about the buff guy who killed off yakuza members, it was Gotou the 5 in 1 guy. He changed the face in the same episode then he killed off yakuza members

Hi Luke, really really appreciate you sharing your view so I am gonna do the same here. Absolutely agree with you that when you’re friend is suffering and refuse to talk, you shouldn’t press for more and just be there. But depend on the situation, sometimes pressing could be better response than staying silent because sometimes, people need a push (even against their will) to move forward. Say what if your friend has suicidial thoughts and he tries to hide it? Then one day, he’ll just kill himself out of the blue and you wouldn’t even know why. So maybe in case like that, press for annswer might have been a better response but you press too much, it might break the other person. Since human emotions are so complex, it’s really hard to determine which reaction in which situation would be the best for them. Murano is the same, she doesn’t what is the best to do so sometimes she makes the wrong choice of word or action, but that’s quite understandable i’d say.

Hirokawa is the mayor with the party of ~8 parasytes with him. That's the other group they're referring to.

To put it simple, Murano is not a Manga/Anime character, but rather your standard Japanese girl stereotype (before the creation of smartphones and all the distractions that came with...). Looking forward to the next episode!!
