20m22s Exploding under a ship is PRECISELY how modern torpedoes are supposed to work. The tricky thing is getting to explode at the point. US, UK and Germany all had top secret magnetic fuze sub torpedo designs ready at the start of WW2... and none of them worked reliably in combat. All converted to contact fuzes. What happened to the other 11 torpedoes? Who says they only hit 2 ships. Only Ark Royal and Hood were *mentioned.* Tanya pointed out the first target would be a heavy cruiser since it was closer. And they might use more than one torp on the CV and BB. The underwater detonation of one is a enough to disable a big ship... Tanya doesn't want them to be able to repair them.

22:50 IRL, generally speaking, you fire multiple munitions at a single target to ensure a hit, even if a munition malfunctions or is intercepted/dodged. If they don't go into further detail in the anime, I would assume Tanya's group hit one vessel, and the two other groups hit the carrier. Might not have been the plan, but just the better option than getting nothing and running out of steam.

By my count they took out 4 ships? The first one we saw going under, two more immediately after they showed on fire, and the last one Tanya blew up, although from the over view towards the end we only see two on fire. The Hood was sinking quickly, but even then I'd still expect to see 3 in flames, unless she obliterated the last one.
16:54 You have to remember that the world of Tanya the Evil is based on WWI so they don't have any technology used in WWII. That's also why the "Germany" that is depicted is not based on 3rd Reich germany but on the German Empire
