Not sure if you've noticed - Xeno wrote about missiles carrying viruses and Senku immediately started researching ways to cure said viruses and even flew to Africa to do some epidemiology research

The waking up at the same time is definitely a coincidence but its not as random as you might think. The awakening is tied to 2 variables: the brain activity and the nitric acid absorption. The thinking uses up the petrified matter for energy (hence the E=mc² on Senku). Their bodies are different, but the amount of petrified matter should scale similarly to the energy their brain uses so that variable is the same. The second variable is the nitric acid: Xeno was in a nitric acid rich area so his body probably absorbed more but over a longer period plus his body is bigger than Senku's; while Senku's source was the bat cave and his absorption only started when he got close to there but happened quicker because it was less diluted plus his body is smaller. So its a stretch to say all of that ended up nullifying each other to make them wake up at the same time but its better than nothing. It would definitely mean that the other people with Xeno would have woken up on their own later depending on their own variables though.

What I go to regarding the coincidence of both waking up is these two facts: 1 - Both were awake 2 - Both were near nitric acid so, the environmental changes in the world that destroyed the cities and grew forests would happen in the same pacing over the entire world, so them being exposed to Nitric Acid would occur around the same time as well. It doesn't mean it would work out for everyone, tho. You only wake up with Nitric Acid if you're awake (like Xeno's party). If not, you need the Revival Fluid Senku made, so you can wake up even people that aren't awake But what I mean is: several years of "natural" exposure to nitric acid are necessary to wake up. It's not like Taiju, that was put under nitric acid on purpose by Senku

luke please read the comments on your previous episodes, people have full explained the petrification as you forgot how it works. no its not a coincidence that they woke up at the same time when being awake for 3700 years is literally one of the two conditions for waking up. both senku and xeno were exposed to nitric acid probably for hundreds if not thousands of years. they woke up at the same time because they were both conscious the whole time and used up enough energy in their brains by thinking which is the other condition for waking up. nitric acid only revives people that have used up enough energy by thinking, which occurs after 3700 years. and for the people that weren't awake the whole time, nitric acid doesn't work on them which is why senku spent a year making the revival fluid with alcohol which revives people that weren't awake the whole time.

In regards to that old guy, I dont think it was so much that he understand it, but rather the method. At the level of scientists, it is a bunch of numbers and scientific papers. Especially with him being older, using social media to come up with an analysis is something that he is not used to, but clearly NASA thought that it was valid since they ended up sending guys over to the areas

Yea, I love this anime, but there definitely are a couple things that you need to overlook. Like languages not changing after thousands of years or animals changing at least a little bit, or how everyone is REALLY good at the one trait that they have that is valuable to the team, language barriers between different groups, or even materials not being purified. Again, love this anime and how it incorporates science into it, but there are a few things that you need to ignore to fully enjoy it

I think it was already explained, but the thing is that just nitric acid on its own isn't enough. but you need to think for 3700 years before the nitric acid can take effect. (because thinking takes power and it gets that from the petrification) so both could have been submerged in nitric acid for hundreds of years, but it would not have depretrified them any earlier. Both dr X and Senku were thinking with the same intensity, so both awoke at the same time. The fact that both of them were in a location with nitric acid when the 3700 were over was coincidence though. but it was not what made it precise.

6:22 I had mostly used reverse image search for identifying insects before. But since moving I have used it more for objects. For example there was this cable in my new room I had no clue what it was so I took a picture of it and instantly learned it was an antenna cable.
