By making her hate him, he pushed her away from himself and from danger while getting himself closer to his goal. Yes, he has been selfish but I don't think he's cruel: talking to her and involving her when he thinks he can get vengeance alone, that would be pretty cruel. In his mind, he need to be the only one to take this burden. So, I strongly disagree. Maybe, if Ruby knew whatever the heck is recorded in those DVDs, it could speed up the story and we could see a badass duo dealing with the crazydaddy, but it would completely betray the character of Aqua who has always been protective to a fault toward the girls around him. He stopped Akane from getting herself too close to the killer, he wants to save Ruby from the vengeance plot and he was doing his best to stay away from Kana. And yes, I gotta admit, the last part is the only one that get me a bit confused about his goals. Why did he need to get closer to Kana again? It's a bit of a contradiction compared to what we've seen in the previous episodes. I need to know more about his reasoning for that. I guess we'll see. Anyway, I really hope he doesn't get too close to any of the girls again. ESPECIALLY MEM, please protecc this wholesome lady from this harsh story.

This is where all started to downhill from the Manga afterwards lol.

They didn't change anything from what it is in the manga. If anything, they cut content from the manga instead. From what I am seeing, I am afraid they might not go beyond chapter 120, but I wish they would go up to chapter 122 when they finish this season.

Ruby would seem like the obvious choice to play Ai, but Akane did once portray Ai so accurately that she gave Aqua a panic attack.

Did you seriously not understand Frill's joke? When the Boy That Cries Wolf starts shouting about how there ISN'T a wolf what do you think the village is going to think? They're going to think there actually is a wolf this time because they're so used to him lying. Except there still wasn't a wolf so they got angry again.

Generally, if any changes to the manga were made it only improves the quality, like adding some short scenese to make stuff flow more naturally and actually make more sense or rearranging things to help the storyline. I don't think there's been a single change that hasn't elevated the story honestly

It's funny that you call her 'crow lady' since in the community she was always called 'crow girl', so I guess your British side is showing by giving her a more proper / polite title lol.

I'm a bit disappointed with the end of this episode. Ending on Akane would have been a better cliffhanger... 💦

Yeah sadly it is very close to to manga, other than conversations shuffling I did a reread and seen how close we are to the end. I love this season I really hope the Finale season does well but I don't know if we will see any season better than this one.

Akana isn't an idol so her being in a relationship wouldn't be any danger. Especially since she rose to fame while publically dating him already.

It's very close to the manga! It had a feeeew slight changes this season, but it was more of a reordering of things, nothing that changes the plotline
