Also Frieren didn't attack the Demon, because she wasn't certain. She needed to see if there are bodies in the graves. If the priestess turned out to be real, she would be shocked maybe, but in the North being cautious and not trusting people you meet and don't know is just Tuesday. You learn this survival tactics in the North and Fern and Stark weren't here, so they wouldn't know. Once again the demon (pretty average at that, but boosted by the power of the sword) used people's compassion against them. That doesn't mean that people should lose compassion of course. It's just that Fern and Stark need to learn to be extremely cautious. And now that they finally enter the... maybe not the deep North yet, but they are much closer to the plateau than ever before.

Hero of the South fought 7 Sages of Destruction at once, including their leader, the Omniscient Schlacht. Every Sage of Destruction possesses a Special power, which is why they were only below the Demon King. Omniscient Schlacht's power (that we know of) was ability to see thousand years to the future. Aura was arguably the weakest of Seven Sages. But remember that she would be able for example to take control of Himmel and Eisen. They could temporarily resist, but only temporarily and they wouldn't be in optimal fighting condition doing so. Still Hero of the South managed to kill 3 Sages in this fight, including Schlacht the Omniscient and forced 4 others to flee, 2 of whom were killed by Himmel and his party. Aura was later defeated by Frieren. If the number of your strongest generals falls from 7 to 4 and 2 of them are not at the moment able to co-ordinate Demon King's attacks and you lost the most important General, who was able to consistently beat Humanity's soldiers, due to knowing the future - that is a gigantic loss for Demon King. Because he was effectively left with 2 great generals who commanded his forces and didn't have the ability of foresight. It could be argued that if Hero of the South didn't do this, Himmel and his Party wouldn't be able to get to Demon King, much less defeat him.

The Hero of the South looks familiar to me too.... but i dont think we've seen anyone that looks like that... he does look like someone from the same village as Stark though... perhaps an ancestor?

Listen carefully and you'll hear Kakashi's voice when the Hero of the South speaks!

The amazing music is all thanks to the super talented Evan Call!

Schlacht was the commander of the Seven Sages of Destruction. Not a combined form.

that spell can come in handy if a demon is allergic to green apples

I will say, it could be just my imagination, but the camera focus on Fern and Stark when Frieren is talking about demons taking advantage of human impulses and desires feels…ominous.

The Hero of the South was actually mentioned in Season 1 while Frieren is showing off water ice.

Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin. The result of reacting with oxygen alone is just a black substance, but when you add water and carbon dioxide, you get carbonate compounds as well, including malachite. This leaves a green patina on the copper, bronze, or brass (alloy of copper and zinc) metal. It's the same reason the Statue of Liberty is green, its skin being made of copper.

Sword demon really tried to pull an "I don't know who that is but he sure must be handsome" with her 'mournful' monologue, love it.

Based on what we've seen so far in the anime, Himmel and his companions were only able to seal Qual, known as the Elder Sage of Corruption, whose power was equal to that of one of the Seven Sages. Then they faced Aura the Guillotine. They destroyed most of her undead army and forced her to retreat, but were unable to kill her. Then we know, thanks to Wirbel, that Himmel and his group defeated Böse the Immortal. All of this in 4v1 battles. The Hero of the South faced the Seven Sages of Destruction and Schlacht the Omniscient (who could see the future), and in this 8v1 battle, three of the Seven Sages of Destruction and Schlacht were taken down by the Hero of the South.

No, The Hero of the South fought the 7 sages of Destruction + Schlacht the Omniscient, who was the Demon King’s right hand man. During the fight, he killed 3 sages and Schlacht and the Hero of the South killed each other. In short, he fought 8 of the strongest demons in the world at the same time and killed 4 of them apparently. Hope that clears it up.

That made so much sense. Didn't know or realized that Schlacht the Omniscient is the Demon King's right hand man. But there should be a left hand man perhaps? Or it doesn't work in this Demon King like some other animes lol.
