These episodes are the ones that really solidified Makishima as one of my favorite anime villains of all time. He's got a lot of similarities with Light Yagami, if Light didn't really think he was really brining justice. Like Light, he's brilliant and idealistic, but he doesn't delude himself about his true nature - Light is a tyrant that wishes for good while doing evil, meanwhile Makishima doesn't care about good or evil, only freedom, and he enables the worst in humanity to actively challenge the system. Oh, and as for the "Chief" - the brain is in the body, it's a full conversion cyborg like the hunter, but even higher quality. When trying to figure out the appearance, Makishima ruled out surgery and the "Chief" told him what they were. The link they connected to just lets them rejoin the network, it's plugging in the Ethernet cable to get on the network. So yeah, he's toast, Makishima killed him and even asked him if he was afraid of death after attaining the perspective of God.

Although it probably won't happen since to access them they use multiple physical keys and handed among different people, what if AI some how get access to to nuclear missile launchpad.

Looking forward to the finale. I've got this clear picture in my head of the final scene with the closing credits. It's really a show that finishes like it started.

Man I love Shogo makishima. Perfectly written imo. Also the part about Ai, is factual. Most companies developing AI are aiming for super artificial intelligence. We would essentially be like a plant compared to that kind of being. Not to mention Ai can also no doubt be used to create Biological weapons, and no doubt probably improve them too. Especially if it’s a super intelligence. So yeah, the future is pretty terrifying. Best strategy? Try not to think about it. My advice? Be nice to your toaster, you might be the bread next.

Thank you for the reaction Luke! Poor Kagari, even if the system condemned him since childhood and he hated it, he was still loyal to his team until the end. This anime is so good and Makishima is one of the best and well written villains in anime of all time. Excited for the finale next week.

Unless someone actually took clips every time Luke cursed a character from the beginning, his Luke Curse compilation video would require hundreds of hours of watchtime to make. I couldn't do it. LOL. Then again, I'm sure someone has actually kept all those times. And I watched this entire steam and did not miss the chat ONCE.

Some thoughts about what Luke said at 19:10 ish. Quick preface, I'm a developer. Not in machine learning/AI specifically, but I know more about what's behind the curtain than most. One thing people need to learn about "AI" nowadays is that AI means nothing in and of it self. A lot of people imagine what we call AI now to be the same as in sci-fi stories. A "thinking" machine often capable of learning on its own. That's not what the "AI" we have now is. AI is just an umbrella marketing term for tools created using machine learning. ChatGPT is an LLM (Large language model) not AI. Midjourney is a GAN (Generative adversarial network) not AI. The "AI" you think about from sci-fi is now often called AGI, artificial general intelligence. The type of danger Luke mentions could only happen with a true AGI and we're nowhere near that. That said, the current "AI" we have is proving to be more than capable of fucking shit up already. Just not in the ways most people feared
