(I tend to believe the second possibility)

The Loulan/Shushi reveal has been so much fun to wait for. You were the only reactor I've seen to suspect her of anything and It's been so fascinating, entertaining and a little halerious listening to your suspicions of her for the entire series. We did have a little fun teasing you without trying to spoil anything and I know a couple people "gaslit you" but tbh I think they did a very good job of sticking to the information they would have had without seeing future episodes.

Lakan getting down on his knees for Maomao is HUGE. He is a part of no faction and feared by everyone including the emperor. He is not only begging Jinshi for the army to be rallied but to save his daughter. He has fought so hard to even have Maomao be near him that when she is in danger and no one is doing anything but sitting on their asses? Yeah it's understandable why he's so pissed off. Lahan asking too means he respects Lakan a lot because he doesn't know Maomao from a stranger on the road but he's there arguing what happened was wrong and they need to fix it.

The mother of the boy is alive. They didnt said it exactly, but MaoMao did said she smells musk an then see the people in the beds and then said that there was something mixed in their drinks. The matriarch actually does put in the drinks aphrodisiac and all the woman do have sex with many man in her room. She is making an orgy, regularly. Thats the "Work" the mother of the boy does.

I love the effect Luomen has on Lakan: he was full of rage and acting with disrecpect toward the prince, bu as soon as the only person he respects in life comes in, he just turn back almost into a child. That whole family is amazing! 😁
