Just to answer a few questions without spoiling anything. What is up with the fallen angels: I can't speak for everybody, but by this point in the book we were given some of Freed's backstory. With regards to his comment "don't bring up that vulgar name in front of me", he was never religious. He was considered a prodigy in the church and was one of their best exorcists by the age of 13. However, he has always been unhinged. Even at that time, he only viewed the holy light and the church as a means to fight and kill demons. It even got to the point where he was killing his fellow exorcists in the field if they got in the way. Because of that, he was excommunicated and stripped of the holy light that he used to fight and kill demons. That was why he joined the fallen angels. They were able to provide holy light to him so he could fight. As such... he's a bit salty about being excommunicated and having his power stripped. How could what they did affect the demon world: The holy swords are one of the big things maintaining the three way stalemate between the demons, angels, and fallen angels. In the book, Xenovia told Isse and his group that their mission was to either recapture all of the stolen holy swords or destroy them if they couldn't take them back. There were better off destroyed than in the hands of the fallen angels. Isse realized that Kiba would not rest until he defeated an excalibur. As such, he went behind the president's back and made an agreement with Xenovia that they would help try and take back the swords for the church if they would let Kiba destroy one of them (preferably while fighting) and they agreed. That was why Isse transferred his power to Kiba during the fight instead of using it himself. He wanted to give Kiba the energy required to destroy a holy sword himself. The dad can't be allowed in the room: Lol... in the book, he was sitting on the sofa and telling Isse that he needed to marry both of them because he could get used to this. He said that it was the best way to relax after a long day of work. Why does Isse act the way he does (perverted but does nothing): It's a bit more clear in the books, but still not the most logical. Basically, he wants to do everything... and is willing to do so. However, every time he starts showing another girl attention, Asia or Rias gets very possessive and starts trying to out-lewd whatever girl is getting his attention. The problem is that he views Asia as a cute little sister that needs to be protected. Because of this, he tries not to look at her that way and holds himself back. In the book, it is more "I'm trying to do stuff and I get interrupted by somebody else" and less of "I just wimp out and wonder why I can't get any".

I love Freed as a character, he's absolutely insane. I know he shares a voice with Betelgeuse and Inosuke, and those make perfect sense for his energy, but then I think about the fact he's also Kirito, Bell and Soma and I just can't wrap my head around it. JP Va's really are built different.

I really forgot how many name drops we got during this episode...

If you like Freed's voice, you will love the crazy voice from Accelerator in To Aru Majutsu no Index, if you ever watch it. Freed's crazy voice is nothing to Accelerator's insane voice... 😅 What's more crazy though, is that Freed's VA also voiced the following characters: - Bell from Danmachi - Soma from Food Wars - Inosuke from Demon Slayer - Betelgeuse Romanee-Conti from Re:Zero - Kirito from SAO Hard to believe right?

I am pretty convinced that Issei got his pervert traits from his mother.

pretty sure rias cast magic on the parents to make them cool with her and asia the first time we see rias in bed with issei and its implied when asia moves in

She did use magic in that first instance, but with Asia she simply convinced them by appealing to their desire for Issei to give them grandchildren (by presenting Asia as a potential wife for him)

I think it's mentioned issei sees asia more as a little sister to be protected the pursued. Or that's the overall impression. But that definitely flips back and forth a few times :D

Saji: "look at my sacred gear!" Luke: "finally someone uses their familiar"

Well, pervertedness runs in the family. With a family like this no wonder Issei turned a pervert. No worries, Issei bipolarity will be explained later. For now, just think of Issei like your usual teen, with a strong sexual desire but when the time comes insecurity and fear of the unknown takes over him. We've all been there.

As Kokabiel said, the whole reason he stole the Excaliburs was to get Michael and the Angels involved. He had hoped Michael would send some big shots, but the church only sent Xenovia, Irina and some priests. Still though, declaring war, killing two Holy Sword users (who are a rare commodity as Rias said) and running off with multiple Excaliburs would force further intervention, which is now his method of involving the Angels

This is also what Rias meant when she said Issei’s actions can affect the entire Devil world. Rias isn’t just a High-class Devil, she’s the sister of the current Lucifer. If her servants are teaming up with Holy Sword users sent by the church to fight the Fallen Angels, then that can complicate things very fast and easily lead to larger scale conflict

we have seen familiars be used in battle once by akeno during the rating game, she sent hers out to set traps. usually though the familiars are for grunt work like handing out flyers and stuff
