So, where does Freya land on the hot crazy scale? Do you think she is above the Vicky Mendoza Diagonal? If anyone gets this reference, please let me know.
himym
Ais is kinda cheating as a Human-Spirit hybrid, since Spirits are essentially assistants to the gods, and are basically emotionally stunted af compared to everyone else, including the gods themselves
I love how, when Freya declares war game, we are like "Is she stupid? She will be obliterated with Loki familia due to support of all the others" But then they like, nah, Loki can't compete, and we are like "Oh shit... Its lost, no way of winning" And I hate that this story did that. All out war of Loki vs Freya familia could be the best and most hyped thing it ever produced and possibly would produce... But nah... It was still great war game, the best one ever... But when you think what could be... it sucks that it wasnt that.
I caved. I watched the rest of the episodes. I will watch it all again in the next 1-2 weeks because it was just that good.
Finally caught up with vods, I can watch the finale live <3
Well I was wrong. Last week I was very confident Hestia couldn't save people since she wasn't able to protect Hermes next to her and hadn't cured her own familia. Turns out she could do it, but instead of doing a few people at a time and risking getting caught, she decided to do everyone at once. Honestly makes sense since Freya could probably detect her spell being broken, but it is kind of crazy Hestia requires this much set up to break the curse, while Freya kind of just said some words and this happened? Though it was a festival focused on fertility or whatever it was she's associated with, so maybe the entire festival itself was the prep needed for her power to hit the whole city? These episodes have also made it kind of clear that the rules about Gods using their powers aren't like hard rules they have to obey or they return to heaven, but just guidelines they all agree to which is interesting. -- I definitely liked seeing some actual personality from the Freya Familia, and that they all weren't just mindless puppies chasing after Freya. Speaking of them I'm curious about the Dwarf, Mamma Mia (who is clearly a secret Italian). They said she's monstrous in strength and were wary enough to monitor her, but they also let her just go off and do her own thing? So she's clearly WAY stronger than she seems. My theory is that she was from the Hera familia and after they got beaten by the dragon or w/e Zeus fucked off to take care of Bell and Hera probably went back to Heaven. So Mamma Mia was a free agent and got scooped up by Freya, but didn't really fit in so she just stays on her own. Considering prostitute girl kept her powers after Ishtar fell and returned to Heaven, it seems the gods are like electricity, and the Status doesn't reset if you lose you God, it just goes dormant until you get a new one to power it. So it's possible if she is from one of those fallen Familia she's as strong or stronger than Otter the minotaur trainer, which would be pretty cool. -- Definitely wasn't expecting a war game, or for it to be hide and seek. I hope they use the invisibility cloaks, or at least address them in some way. Considering Bell and Freya were able to escape the guards monitoring them on their date, including some of Freya's top tier members, then those cloaks should be invaluable here, both for sneaking past the armies, and/or for just hiding the gods from like 99.9% of the Freya Familia forces. I'm sure Master Elf, EmoSubaru and Otter can detect invisible people, and maybe the seven dwarves /power rangers or w/e they are, but that's a pretty small amount of people that could and it's a really big area to defend.
The real reason Hestia was able to avoid the charm of Freya wasn't a god like power. It was because she was using SurfShark VPN to hide her location.
The way Bell looks dead inside is how I feel About Luke constantly choosing family over Danmachi like seriously he acts like his marriage anniversary, looking for housing for his family and his wifes birthday don't happen all the time Danmachi Finale could've only been... Just ducking with ya wouldve loved Finale this weekend but I have something to look forward to next weekend and I hope you enjoy your weekend and happy birthday to them missus
Good lord I cannot wait for Astrea Record OST
To answer a few questions without spoiling anything. Yes, Hestia is actually that great. In mythology, Hestia is actually the oldest sibling of Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. Her authority is over the hearth and everything it represents. In those days, the hearth represented home, family, and civilization. This was so important, that Hestia actually received offerings before any other god, had her name spoken before all others, and even received all honors before other gods. There aren't many stories about her because her duty was to tend the sacred flame in the Olympian hearth. However, even cities like Rome, they had priestesses of Vesta (Roman Hestia), called the Vestal Virgins, who dedicated themselves to keeping the sacred flame of Rome alive constantly. Nah, I'm afraid it's confirmed constantly in the books Luke... Freya sleeps around... a lot. Freya was known to sleep around so much in mythology that somebody, I can't remember who, made a statement that she would even sleep with her own brother, Freyr... and to that she replied something along the lines of "I have, so what?" No, the Freya familia didn't ever turn Bell down. Freya never saw Bell until after he joined up with Hestia. The reason that Freya can use her charm powers is because it is innate to her very being. It's not magic or godly authority; It would be like being mad at Poseidon for being able to breathe underwater. The other ability that the anime never directly talks about is her ability to directly view the souls of mortals. In mythology, half of the soldiers who die heroically on the battlefield go to Valhalla, which is ran by Oden. However, most people don't know that the other half of the slain heroes go to Folkvangr, which is ran by Freya. As such, part of her ability is to look into the hearts of mortals to determine who is worthy. This bleeds over into the show where she has the ability to view the soul of any mortal, determine it's quality and attributes, determine their potential, see whats holding them back, and nurture them. That's why her familia is the strongest... she is the only god there with the ability to basically determine the potential of a mortal at a glance. This is one of the reasons she is so enamored with Bell and describes his soul as clear and like something that she has never seen before. She is curious about what he will become. As a side note, she views Ais as a towering bonfire that would burn everything around it. This isn't really a spoiler since it is blatantly obvious in the book. Freya familia is basically just a familia of simps... to put it bluntly. They do nothing but train all day every day in an attempt to impress their goddess and win her affection. Only the strongest ever get any *cough* "affection", and they are all desperate. Now I can't remember exactly where this was in the book; however, the 4th episode today was the end of the last book I read, so I know it's been covered. What they mean by "saving" Freya, is saving her from herself. It's weird to say this, but there probably isn't another god or goddess in the show that loves mortals more than Freya. She loves their resilience, their drive, their passion. More than that though, she loves their individuality and the potential that they themselves as an individual hold. That is why she hates using her charm ability. She views it as something that destroys everything that makes the mortals great. That is why she promised herself that she would never use her charm to basically rule the world and get everything that she wants. However, that is exactly what she did to get Bell... and she hates herself for it. In doing that, she basically became everything she hated, "A foul loathsome beast, like Ishtar." The fact that she did that is slowly destroying her.
Oh hell nah
Luke "How does he put that outfit on" Whole ED about her putting the outfit on.
I’d like you to react to How strong is Bell at the end of s4 from ani news. It’s a good refresher on the power system and give more context as to where he’s at.
Being turned off is not a sexual thing. That's merely a subset of the ways a person can be turned off.
Hopefully he gets a chance to react to Wistoria at some point. Same author and really enjoy the manga so far
War game in 2 weeks!
Leveling up is not automatic. The god or goddess has to choose to allow it, when it's possible. This was covered right at the beginning of the season when Hestia said he could level up but she won't let him, because too little time has passed, and she doesn't want to stress over yet another god-chosen new nickname.
It's cool and all but funny how he miss like 20% of the dialogue and get confused
1:18:00 "Bell, pls no indecent thoughts." SAYS WHO ?! hahahahah
It was so satisfying seeing Bell tell Freya to her face I don't give a damn what you say I know you loved me and her being so pissed she actually slapped him the truth cuts deep huh Freya
These episodes are tough to watch i love Bell and the answer to is it wrong to gaslight him out of the dungeon is a resounding yes it is so wrong just seeing how sad and defeated he looked right before Ais rejuvenated him love that scene so much I do love Ais and respect to Bell for sticking to his guns and original girl though I wish at least he'd be open to a harem just because there's so many good girls in Danmachi
I can't wait till the last 5. Episode 12 will be the best. I would literally pay to have him react to it sooner. The wait will kill me. 🤣
It is not "I am the greatest man alive" from GoldenEye. It's "I AM INVINCIBLE!"
I’m really struck by the intense confrontation between Hestia and Freya. I noted how Hestia’s recollection of past threats and her unyielding challenge to Freya over her obsession with Bell set the tone for the episode, especially with the dramatic twist of the War Game proposal. It’s clear that the adaptation softened some of the epic original dialogue, shifting the scene into a more subdued but no less significant battle of wills. I also appreciated how Ryuu’s personal journey, driven by cryptic motivations, added layers to the overall narrative, while the subtle humor in the Apology Conference—although toned down for the anime—offered moments of levity amid the tension. I also find the strategic and political undercurrents surrounding the War Game particularly intriguing. The secret negotiations between Finn and the Guild leader, along with the balancing act among the various factions, highlight just how precarious the situation is. I was especially impressed by the detailed portrayal of the Freya Family’s overwhelming strength and how the Loki Family’s deliberate non-participation underscores internal and external pressures. The rigorous training preparations, from Bell’s heightened abilities to the intensive teamwork of his allies, really set the stage for a conflict bursting with both emotional depth and tactical intrigue. Overall, I think the episode does a superb job of building suspense and laying the groundwork for the dramatic events to come.
