This anime really should be bigger, many amazing characters
"you're a police officer, I'm under arrest? ok sure, that was bound to happen sooner or later" had me in tears.
The "taxi driver" is Martin's friend, the restaurant owner where Tenma was keep going to find Eva and met Martin many times.
this anime is getting better still. i haven't watched ahead but my theory is tenma will watch eva get killed
most people only care about falshy and colourful animation. people will even watch something like demon slayer or jjk with 2/10 stories and terrible characters but since monster is quite old and gloomy looking they don't give it a chance. and 90% of non action animes are unpopular. monster is so peak but very unknown
I have various reasons(all my opinions, which means they could be wrong) why Monster isn't as popular as other anime: 1. The artstyle (semi-realistic with mundane colors compared to how "bright" anime usually is) 2. It's "too real". Most people when watching anime want to see an imaginative world, not a story that could actually happen in real life. 3. An underrated gem isn't going to bring the "hype" in. Most anime that are popular will achieve this, but Monster is not like that. (But I still like it)
5:56 this guy watches Naruto where the only word said in 20 minutes is "Sasuke" then goes off saying there's nothing but talking in other anime....
Eva is such a great character man. It's so impressive how they created such an unlikable character at the start and then manage to develop her so much that 60 episodes later you're crying for her. Also I'm not sure it's accurate that Tenma is immune to being manipulated, Johan has been manipulating him this entire time trying to break him and get him to chase after and kill him. Johan told the kid in that one weird episode that he's playing a game where he's going to get shot by a japanese guy. He's been manipulating him since he showed up in like episode 4 and shot his patient.
I basically never say this about any anime episode, but man this episode was a rough watch. First time ive felt this emotional throughout the whole anime...
The big reason why Monster isn't "more well known" is due to the date the anime aired plus today's generation being brain dead and only see flashy lights and fast paced fights as good.
This is so true. I don't have anyone in my friends or family, who's gonna watch monster with me. Sadly even my husband is bored after a 2min conversationin anime. Just the magic, fighting and superpowers, whats matters a lot of anime fans. I like them too, but i apriciate more, the meeaningful ones. Monster is on my top3.

The bodyguard did get a glimpse of Johann in the hallway of the hotel where he met with Petr Capek (the apprentice), but he intentionally avoided looking him in the eyes.

This episode hit so hard Yeah he’s gonna look great in the maid uniform 😂 Pretty sure that’s the guy from the burger restaurant not a taxi driver Eva truly is a brilliant character
