Bon-Chan!! <3
We also have to keep in mind that hundreds of years have passed. The oldest book written on Fushi is the equivalent to the bible at this point. Most people see Fushi as a God, and the Guardians basically as saints. Tonori's Diary would be the equivalent of finding the Dead Sea Scrolls. So, hearing them say it's considered "Authoritative" on Fushi, implies many people have been writing about him and a "Biblical Canon" is developing. We're seeing the birth of a fully fledged religion. I dunno, I think that's neat.
Lmao After learning about his backstory and going back to this interaction, his crazy behavior makes soooooo much more sense. I hated Tasty Peach in the beginning, too.
I believe that guy can see ghosts, For reference I’m only half way into the episode btw. So like. If it’s revealed or something my bad. But I think he’s scared because of Gugu. We got the ghost of gugu freaking him out with the mask threatening him. That would be fun right?
I only recognized that guy as Dio because of the freakiness. Roswaal flashbacks
So I’m assuming the sparkles are just a new way to show how Fushi can sense and feel their feelings. Since first season it wasn’t the most obvious,
Wait no those were just love bubbles. They were in season 1 I’m dum
patience new watchers patience
I agree... the tone of this episode is completely shifted. I dont like much this new character but his ending scene was good. Also idk.... Fushi already kinda have an army to fight the nokkers. Does he need another one? And that "friendly" nokker is up to something but right now it doesnt seem to act on w/e plan it had at the start
Please after you finish 'To Your Eternity' watch a movie 'Ghost in the Shell' (1995) before you start the other anime.
Wtf was this episode
My boy!!!!
It's a totally different era. Also, Bon the goat is here.
What I have noticed with To Your Eternity is that it feels like the story is trying to match the viewers feeling to what Fushi feels all through the story. When you first start the anime you don’t know anything and is curious, just like Fushi. When your confused by the Jananda arc and everything felt sudden, Fushi felt that way. This episode where everything feels weird and you don’t have any attachments because of the amount of time that has passed, I’m sure Fushi feels that way. It’s really like the viewers emotions and Fushi’s are connected which is very related to how Fushi’s abilities work.
here comes best man
There were some love bubbles between gugu and rean. I imagine the drink was peach related. Bons VA is indeed Takehito, Koyasu (Dio), however might be easier to recognise him as Roswaal from Re zero
yeah he didn't notice the bubbles were in season 1 XD
The reason for the tone shift is that a lot of time has passed since Tonari died, we're talking like 200+ years. The world can change a lot in that amount of time
"weird fushi decided to go with them" fushi at start of ep: I want to meet people that understand me. It make sense to go with them. He has zero goals. They threatened the guardians to execute them and he doesn't kill humans. Conclusion: Get captured. For him these events are not a waste of time as he is immortal and he can escape any prison so.. why not.
I do like what the underlining narrative shift did for this episode. While on the surface it presents itself as way more lighthearted and comedic, there's a lot of world building going on. Sure, everyone Fushi ever met is dead after 200~ years, but Tonari, Sandel and Hayase molded the world we're shown now, they're active players in the way kingdoms and society form ideologies, all of this quickly hidden away by an over-the-top tasty peach stealing the spotlight with delusions of grandeur. As for how season 2 develops these new themes, we'll have to see!
Season 2 is actually a crossover season with JoJo's bizarre adventure. Trust me, I just happen to be an expert on these things. :D
My first watch I didn’t like the first few episodes of season two. That is actually by design. Season two is incredible and those annoying episodes are quite enjoyable the second time around with foresight.
season 2 pacing does feel awkward and quick, it's like cramming content as much as possible
yeah is it just me but I thought the characters were talking pretty fast and the frames were going hella fast
I love this season so much! I hope you grow to appreciate it too
tasty peach giving me a Gabiru vibe.
