One of my favourite bands of all time, I saw them live in London, met with Sugizo here in Greece (had some beers in a local bar after a Juno Reactor concert) and Pata in Paris, very cool guys.
Love it~! Please reaction to Rusty Nail or Tears in the future~ Thank you~
Ah! My angsty teenage years are flooding back to me. You should probably try Kurenai from them next.
Am I the only one who can't see the posts? ._. . I can only see videos through notifications. wtf patreon EDIT: fixed by filter posts by videos then clear the filters to none and it worked
I've been a big fan of X Japan for many years. They're THE "visual kei" band, which is like the Japanese equivalent of the glam rock/hair metal craze. Endless Rain is their quintessential ballad, but you need to hear some of their heavier stuff as well. Personally I recommend Kurenai as the companion track to this.
Oh my god I can't believe you are reacting to X JAPAN! This sent me on a wave of nostalgia because they were a huge part of my teenage years. Some random yapping if you don't mind (because I'm really excited lmao): - X JAPAN is known as a Visual Kei band, which is generally described as a Japanese rock band with exaggerated makeup and costumes. IIRC they formed in the early 1980s, broke up/went on a long hiatus in the 1990s, then reformed in 2007. I remember crying, screaming and throwing up watching their reunion concert 🤣 - They are known for both their rock ballads and also the classic rock/speed metal songs. Yoshiki (the drummer) is the one who writes their songs, and is classically trained in piano (not too sure about drums because his drumming technique often caused him to have neck injuries and stuff). - X JAPAN and LUNA SEA (another VK band) basically influenced an entire generation of JRock and Visual Kei bands, and that's probably an understatement. - If you want to check out live performances, I believe people usually redirect you to their 1997 last live as that's the one with all of their OG members. They do have more recent live performances, but the members have changed due to various circumstances so yeah. Here are some of my favorites from X JAPAN: - Rusty Nail - Week End - Kurenai - Dahlia - Sadistic Desire - Silent Jealousy - Art of Life - Tears - Forever Love - Crucify My Love Also if you are interested in checking out more VK bands, I highly, highly recommend listening to The GazettE! They are an experimental nu-metal VK band, and one that I loved throughout my entire teenage years. There's many more older VK bands I would love to recommend but I'll save it for next time if you ever want to delve deeper into the VK rabbit hole 😆
We need an "Art of Life" reaction. It's only a 29 minute masterpiece of a song by X.
Man if we going down a visual kei hole man. Im here for some Gazette, D’espairs Ray and Versailles!
You gotta do Kurenai and Scarlet love song, two of their best in my opinion.
The BABYMETAL song 'Akatsuki' (Red Moon) is a song inspired by the XJapan song 'Kurenai' (Crimson). Maybe Luke can do a reaction to both.
X was one of the first Visual Kei bands. The term applies to bands emphasized their crazy look with a broad rock influence, not to diminish their ability to make music, of course. When I was in college I used to listen to some X, like Art of Life their half hour song, or Forever Love, the theme song for the anime movie X (not related to the band specifically, but fun that they did the theme for the same named series). There are a lot of famous Visual Kei bands. L'Arc~en~Ciel started as a Visual Kei band as well, who made several anime songs, as well as their vocalist who did solo work, Hyde.
also, our guy here truly is a MAGICIAN. the way he understands music and connects it back to the musicians, is magical. THANK YOU.
Amen to the best rock band of Japan.
They were called X and became X Japan at some point. This is one of their (great) ballads , but they have faster-paced songs as well. Rusty Nail is great, Kurenai are some of my favorites. Forever Love is a classic that was used at the end of the X anime movie.
Art of Life is my favorite by these guys. Crazy speed/power metal. It's super long - like 30 minutes with a crazy 9 minute interlude. Totally wild.
Have loved this band since HS. You should also check out IV by them. It was used in Saw 4 lmao
Hi Luke! Try to react to "Rusty Nail" as well ^ ^
