I've never seen an anime op that can show you almost every highlight in the given season without spoiling a single thing, while having it VERY much in your face. As for series foreshadowing, you caught it, you're not wrong... The very first OP shows the maze leading to Mob's heart, which is under the pocket where he put the broccoli seeds in first episode of Season 2, then it's explosion in the Season 2 final... Aaand, if you stretch your imagination, the end of that same OP, with ???% mob around a destroyed city, only happens at the end of Season 3. Dude freakin through this through.

Mob changed because of Reigen, the same as Reigen changed because of Mob.

The greatest thing I want to praise about Mob Psycho 100 is it spearheading into topic that we do not often encounter in anime and manga. It is even rarer when the world setting of the series is not our normal world but a world with supernatural elements like psychic, youkai and spirits. Then in this world of new and fantastic things, we came to explore a young boy and his struggles as he grew up. How he dealt with his schoolmates, with his family relationship, with other psychics like him then his relationship with the world of spirits. How he perceives spirits and how he treats the spirits. In each of these seemingly mundane subjects, there are actually tiny details that a character with overwhelming power will usually miss but mob didn't. Mob considered using psychic for athletic or academic classes to be inappropriate. Mob didn't think erasing spirits that haven't harmed anyone to be wrong. He was worried that he might take a wrong turn in his life and this problem was recalled at least twice in the series. One when he met the spirit family in ss2, and second at 1st ep of ss3. None of these problems and issues were made just for the sake of drama and then forgot the next day. They had effects later on into the series and found their solution. Most importantly, this series truly fulfilled its premise that people need people as Mob said to Suzuki at the end of ss2 and, therefore, it went to great length to create a cast of characters that each would influence mob in a different way. Mob in turn absorbed what they taught him and found his own way of life. The Vice student council president asked him why he wanted to join the telepathy club when he got no reason to do so. He made Mob seriously consider the situation and his future until Mob reached the conclusion and joined the body improvement club. He sounded unfriendly at first but his advice really impacts Mob and Mob learnt to not go with the flow but think hard before deciding which he used again and again through out the series (the LOL religion, people asking him to just destroy a family of innocent spirits, Reigen's manipulation of him during the midst of ss2). The encounter with the girl in ep 1 of ss2 taught Mob to consider his feeling more and he did, he considered his feeling when he voiced his opinion to his group when they are making the doll for the horror house, he considered his feeling when Tsubomi rejected him at the end but he still wanted to be friend with her and there was no hard feeling between them. There are just so much more about how people influence mob and mob influence people. It was just phenomenal.

Luke, remember the insert song "EXIST" by the Mob Choir, that was played in 2 emotional special endings in Season 2?

In my opinion, they are kind of full of spoilers, but at the same time wouldn't spoil a thing to a first time viewer. That's my very favorite type. You watch them before the episode and you don't have a clue what's going on. You watch them after key events and it all falls into place.

I'm so glad you did these after, esp the third. That last scene of the third opening DEFINITELY hits different after finishing the series

Nice … you reacted to the OPs again 💪 Yeah, like i said in the season finale episode, this is a SPECIAL anime. Great music, animation and morals … and it ages well. We see the love that One (mangaka) and Bones Studio put into this. … and Reigen?! One of the greatest characters. He should cameo on other animes 😂

The openings all comment on elements of the show. The first opening has a major message of the show "If everyone is special, maybe you can be what you want to be" and "If everyone is not special, maybe you can be what you want to be". It is also focused around the explosions that are central to the show... It is probably also the biggest banger amongst the opening. Also, yeah it does show you the whole broccoli storyline in the graphics. We have the second opening talking about Mob actually having to change and be active in his life, he has to take control of his life... because his life is his own. It also focuses on ???%. The third opening is all about him having to accept every part of himself, one and only one person. Every opening basically shows you the whole point of the season.

I would honestly like you to check out the actual music video for one of the endings from Season 2. Sajou No Hana - Gray (same vocalist for the Mob Choir band that does the openings)

"1" is the title for the third opening. The other two are called "99" and "99.9".

Luke will really react to the openings of a series he just finished and still not give us the revisit to the Fate series openings. Sadge.

Opening 3 is by far my favorite, the first 2 have a similar vibe and I find it hard to pick a fave, but opening 3 is just incredible and definitely has a final season feel

The ending with Mob growing up and Reigen staying the same actually just makes me tear up every time. I remember when the OP got leaked and I cried a little seeing it the first time 😂

The power goes to Mobs heart, it explodes, turns into broccoli, broccoli turns into Dimple, Dimple turns into food, and Reigan eats it. My favorite piece of foreshadowing in any anime ever, it's so vague that you barely even notice it even when you know what to look for.

I need more to your eternity episodes. this wait is killing me.
