to be fair... all the earlier seasons were made by different studios. Every studio that touched this anime, closed shortly after, like a curse, but then came the fourth studio with the fourth season, who kept it till the end
If you dont mind me dropping a random recommendation here, based on some of your comments I think you may enjoy School Live Club. However if you decide to watch it you can not read anything about it or react to the openings and endings as they change based on the story and would spoil it for you.

Luke - @12:40 - you must release that as a single!!!! In all seriousness though yes date a live is a strange ride that's worth it. It's not what you expect. There are twists and it gets surprisingly emotional for such a seemingly surface level bubbly magical girl anime.
Date a Live is a very very unique anime, not a magical girl show, it has a lot of cheeky stuff and cliches, with dumb comedy, but it’s also crazy in depth at the same time, the story is very well written and has a GOD TIER soundtrack I’m absolutely certain you’ll fall in love with it, I don’t think you can really predict how Date a Live is lol, but it means so much to me I love it
I think that's a great way to describe it. There's depth to it. It's definitely got cringe moments but it's so well done and going through all the way to season 4 is quite the journey. I did not expect the ending. They did a great job with it.
In truth, I think you'd come to reqlly like Date A Live. It's an investment, and it has a goal the entire series. I can guarantee that you'd be happy you watched it by the end.
Nail ut, Luke. I LOVE animes that go from "Hey, look at me! Ain't I cute!" to "How did it come to this?!?" DAL is a pretty spot on match. Normally, I can't stand irreverent, cutesy, non consequence anime series. I adore DAL. Just saying. Origami FTW.
I start watching that WatchMojo video you mentioned, and it is HIGHLY spoilery. Do not watch it. They give away massive anime plot points. I had to stop watching after the first one (which I had already seen the anime, so I knew how spoilery it was). Date A Live is one of those anime that I just fell in love with after the first episode. It was brilliant.
I've watched over 200 days (or over 5,000 episode-hours) worth of anime and I put Date A Live in my top 5 favorites of all time. Seeing how you have been enjoying Danmachi so far, I'm positive you'll love Date A Live. Date A Live is absolutely NOT a magical girl anime. If you're trying to understand the genre, I personally find it best described as a (Romantic) Comedy combined with a Mecha Anime (you did notice the mech suits)...
Yes romantic comedy may be a good description though it does get dark as he's obviously noted Wow that's high praise for date a live. I personally don't rank it that high but I really enjoyed it. It's a great blend of action, humor and romance. Very worth watching :)
DAL isnt really magical girl anime. like it kinda is and kinda isnt. though it is pretty good anime im sure you would like watching it. Also Tokisaki Kurumi best girl of the show.
The tonal shift flows naturally from irreverent and fun to dark and serious. Then it hits you out of nowhere how far it’s came tonally. In short, it’s worth the watch.
I think you'll like it the more u watch it. It does get dark pretty quick though.
I'd say you'd probably enjoy Date a Live! If it ever wins a poll, I'd gladly rewatch it with you.
You should check out the “spicy”animated music video “Me! Me! Me!” by Teddy Loid the song in it is really good and the video is beautifully animated and has some interesting visuals.
Funny thing, you're actually right. Each of the first seasons was made by a different studio. Every Studio that took this anime to make up to a certain point, went bankrupt. Until Studio GeekToys picked up the project, and then there was that change in art, tone and animation. Aaaand he didn't go bankrupt.
I think you’d enjoy Date A Live. There’s enough source material in the novels for one more season, possibly a movie, but nothing has been confirmed. As it stands Season 5 that aired earlier this year is the final season
Date a live isn't a Magical girl Anime. 1. It is after Rezero my favorit Anime. 2. Search on Youtube Kurumi's massacre and you see if you like ( I don't know if you like Date a Live, but you would love Kurumi.)
I feel like you should check out the ost for this show because it's too good Not like attack on titan level but some of the tracks could go on par with them
Dark animes are probably the best if done well. Probably the best example is Black Lagoon. It's incredibly raw and dark, especially when you realize how realistic it actually is.
Personal favorite series of mine. Honestly feels like The World God Only Knows, where first seasons are fun and light hearted then the finale raises the stakes.
For me this anime is really fun to watch..the drama,comedy,action and plot twist...you'll enjoy it..season 4 and 5 turn to be little dark
