The fact that you recognize how MASSIVE BIGBANG is to kpop makes me so happy. The group, and especially GD, are the reason that kpop is what it is now. So so many groups will tell you that BIGBANG is the reason they wanted to become an idol. Lightsticks exist because GD created them for VIPs. Whenever he wears anything, it sells out so fast. He's one of a very short list of artists that has collaborated with Nike. He is called the "celebrity of celebrities" for a reason and you got to see it on that video! Actually, MNET posted four videos of the idols in the audience (notably, aespa, Seventeen, BIBI, (g)-idle, and boynextdoor (I think) reacting to the GD/BIGBANG performance and it is the cutest thing I've ever seen. Finally, I would love to see more GD reactions so you can see what he's REALLY capable of. You have only gotten the tiniest taste! Crooked and Crayon are great places to start, but I highly, highly suggest Coup d'Etat because I think it's probably his most impressive work. His last solo concert (all the way back in 2017) is on youtube and it is the closest I've seen that really covers the scope of GD's power as an artist and performer and his heart as a person. Also worth noting, the videos of the idols in the audience reacting to the show actually gives you a much, much clearer sense of the impact that the performance had on the crowd. It's insane.
When I heard Home Sweet Home for the first time, I wasn't exactly blown away by it BUT after hearing it for the second time I got absolutely hooked. It has that really nostalgic 00's feel that reminds me of Bigbang's older songs. Also, this was supposed to be a Bigbang song as revealed by GD in his recent behind-the-scenes video, so my guess is that it went into his solo album since TOP isn't with them now (: Mnet uploaded artist reactions for this performance and they are absolutely hilarious LOL. You can see three types of reactions: - People having an absolutely blast and just partying (Most of the Gen 3/4 idol groups) - One person holding her head the entire time (BIBI) - One person completely petrified and in a prayer pose because he was too shocked (Dex) - Someone uploaded a screenshot of this and Dex went viral for a while LMAO Also yes, we all got spoiled because of the video title (especially when Mnet uploaded a video with only Bang Bang Bang + Fantastic Baby) xD There were rumors of Taeyang and Daesung appearing in MAMA with GD but it was never confirmed, that's why the artists all looked so shocked during Home Sweet Home when the two appeared! And I feel you when you started crying... Because I cried too hahaha. It just feels so unreal to actually see new stuff from the group when we've been living on old footages for years. TOP is also back, albeit in the acting industry but I just want him to be happy doing what he likes. What a great year for us VIPs!
Bigbang was my first Kpop group and what got me into the Kpop world. When I saw this performance I was shaking. It felt so unreal. I love them so freaking much and they look so happy! Your reaction is exactly how I was reacting when I saw this. I also loved seeing all the kpop groups' reactions. It was truly epic!
