I know Mob has top tier animation in most of the episodes, but this one was very cinematic right at the beginning. This is the best ever Mob fight!

Yeah, Mogami is fricking powerful. He is the only one that beat Mob in his 100% stage and is only be defeated by ???%

They might have just dropped the seasons budget into one episode...

This has to be one of the best directed episodes of anime out there

Loved when you mentioned that it reminded you of a Madoka fight, I'd had the same thought just like one minute before you said it! I never did finish this season (I think I got a few eps past this), so it'll be fun to continue watching with you! ^_^

Ahhh here it is! One of my favorite episodes of any tv show EVER.

This episode was directed by Hakuyo Go, who directed ep 17 of season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen. He seems to have a knack for directing larger than city fights lol. Other notable names on this episode are Keiichiro Watanabe and Weilin Zhang, but many other amazing animators took part in this too.

The fact this happens in episode 5 is insane this was finale worthy but the fact they keep it here just shows how much love the studio had for the work I truly feel Mob Psycho 100 by whichever studio of Bones did all 3 seasons is a masterpiece work of love it wasn't just a job for them this was about art

you saying it looked amazing early on and knowing it was only a fraction of what we'd see this episode made me smile so hard. Granted I actually forgot just how peak it was with the whole screen just blowing up like that.

The Anime skims over it, but Mogami actually did try reaching out and leveraging his fame to get help, and that worked initially, but eventually people started calling him a fraud and it spiraled out of control from there with him losing everything eventually with all the various shows dropping him and people trying to sue him. His extreme cynicism was born from basically just being used by the media and then cast aside once they'd wrung as much value out of him as they could, and feeling betrayed by all the people he'd helped who turned their backs on him in his most desperate time of need. THEN he started doing Assassinations due to having no options left to make the kind of money needed to pay for treatments.

Think one of the animators on this episode had to do mandatory military service right after this all another reason they really went all out but effin Mob he finds the good in this too where he's like I'm truly blessed to be surrounded by so many good people on the outside because look how horrible it was for him here

Man feel like every episode from now on is just peak. This anime has some of most wholesome scenes that just hits you different. Mob for me is top 3 next to vinland saga and hxh.
