Don’t worry, you’re not alone. I get emotional when I hear the OPs and ED as well. Violet Evergarden is a special IP. Of all the anime I’ve ever watched, it is still a top 10 anime for me. I too was swept away by the emotions. I truly cannot wait for the day you get to watch March Comes in Like a Lion. Much like that Violet Evergarden, that’s another show that really affected me and got me swept up in emotions. As a family man yourself, I think you will particularly love that series.

Translated by poopturds made me giggle. Great anime/music though. Violet Evergarden 100% is in my top 10 and probably borders on my top 5 anime. It has a MC you can't help but care and root for, a beautiful yet heartbreaking story, great visuals and a wonderful soundtrack. I actually remember going to a anime classical orchestra night in Melbourne which they played the ending song and getting quite glassy eyed 😂😂😭

Michishirube (the ending) kills me every time. I have it on my phone and everytime it pops up in my playlist, I shed a tear. Of sadness and joy... and regret that I can't wipe my memory to rewatch this series as it was the first time.

I advice luke to find the live action ending of Violet Evergarden as it is a continuation of the story from the the live action opening. it is a time skip were they have become adults.

People usually mention animes like Silent Voice, Your name, Anohana, clannad etc. when the topic comes to sad animes, but for me, Violet Evergarden is always my first choice. Also may we get Frieren revisited next week ?

The feels. Everything about this anime is beautiful : the story, the themes, the writing, visually easily among the most stunning ever (KyoAni <3), the direction, the music, the pace. I think the ending stuck with you because it's used during certain scenes...so your memory has associated this music with how you felt during those scenes.

The ending is more memorable due in part that this song was playing in the background in the closing scene of the infamous, emotional damage from episode 10. Yui Ishikawa’s portrayal of Violet Evergarden was for me one of her best vocal performances of a MC.

It's really fun watching people react to the OP who have never seen the series before and they can just feel the heaviness of the emotions of the entire series just through those 90 seconds. That's when you know producers nailed it on the OP - both in terms of song and animation.

Violet Evergarden is one of my top anime of all time. It is just so emotionally resonant, and a large part of it is the incredible music, including the openings and endings. There are a select few anime that are more art than anime for me, and this is one of them.

I didnt see the music video before. But I felt the girl singing is also the little girl and its her own memory which inspired her song. So maybe she saw him again, maybe not, maybe she still will. I guess it could make more sense that way.
