I always felt bad for Eva, her life is so sad. One of my favourite female characters in anime and one of the best tragic characters ever. (I hate her too btw)
10:18 Oh, that chess position. [shudder] 15:40 I'm guessing the entire point of that MP/Prostitute/Secretary case was to get Lunge almost fired so know he can spend all his time on catching Tenma. As a bonus, he doesn't even have family life to tie him up - as if he spent a lot of time with them anyway. "I hope Eva shows up. Eva shows up. "NOOOOOooooooOOOOO!"
Your expectation of what Eva should have done after seeing their family back together is so unrealistic, like something out of a love story or a generic tv show lmao
bro come on (I havent seen monster) but how can you say fuck Eva when that guy is spending time whit the woman who LEFT HIM AND THEN CRAWLED BACK AT HIM Like come on yeah Eva sucks but charlotte too
I am pretty sure that the MP is involved, it is just that the Police were pressurized to get off his back and at the first sign of it being anyone else, the Police jumped on it and had promised to punish the individua making them look bad, which was Lunge.
I don't remember if it was Lunge himself, or someone talking about him, but it's said after the time skip that he's an incredible detective who's never had a case he didn't solve. I always thought that was a pretty funny thing to say when the only reason that's true is because he won't ever close cold cases. Been chasing the killers of the middle aged couples/ the hospital staff for over a decade now. I mean, by that kind of logic I'm undefeated because I've never stepped in a boxing ring and I'm also immortal because I've never once died.
So fun fact in a lot of Japanese companies they don't really fire people, especially a couple decades ago there was an expectation of lifetime employment, and even today it can be difficult to get fired especially with office work. But to get around it if they want someone gone what they'd do instead is just take all their actual work away from them and move them to some desk in the corner to sit on their hands for 8 hours a day until they get so miserable they quit on their own. I guess the implication is that someone framed Lunge for making a politician's secretary commit suicide and the department basically got pressured to fire him over it.
While Eva is definitely crazy, I want to point out a way to look at this From her perspective she was a jaded alcoholic that spent her life cheating on, cheating with, and being cheated on by all these men. This gardener guy was likely the first good-hearted man she'd been with since Tenma, and then she went to that christmas party with good intentions, bringing a gift, and saw him with another woman. Now, he, this "good" man, has cheated on her! She is entitled, narcissistic, and deranged, but its a scarily accurate representation of how this type of person would really act and feel. There are tons of real life Eva's out there.
Did Eva...somehow get rid of Lunge's cases so he could help her? If so...PSYCHOPATH.
Eva isn't even a high-functioning alcoholic at all, so how the hell do you expect her to manage to do something like that XD?
The definition of crashing out:
Ok, a selfish woman who burned her own house down is giving Johann, someone who killed multiple people, a run for his money? Not sure about that.
Jealous arsonist vs Monster who killed dozens of people as a kid without lifting a finger. Suure, they're definitely on the same level
