Performing any physical activity in a sub-zero climate will cause a greater consumption of calories, therefore you will need greater endurance and energy reserves. This anime is an example of quality over quantity in its execution, any other anime could have added filler content and we would already have 2 seasons, the first ending when the girls leave Japan and the second being this arc. I love that during the scenes when the girls are sea-sick the backgrounds have a very pronounced rocking effect.

I love Luke's reaction to the girls going outside in the storm lol. Luckily this is not that kind of show that would have them get swept overboard but yeah it is a very bad idea to go outside like that without having a rope attached to the ship to stop you from going overboard, and definitely not without a life vest. Next episode has one of the best scenes in the entire show.
