What She Knows is an art practice which prompts you with a daily statement and I am answering in my native language of collage. My previous responses are collected here. The prompt today was:
I am nourished by...
I am nourished by my relationships.
The teacups of people are my various communities.
They may not necessarily overlap, but they’re all tethered to my heart, as represented by the golden thread tying them to each other.
The floral background illustration shows the organic growth and diverging paths these relationships take over the course of our time together.
Some relationships naturally reach the end of their path, some branch out in unexpected ways, and some continue to grow over the decades.
We’re all doing our best, floating along in our little teacups together.

Ooh this is such a beautiful representation of this idea! I love the teacups
This is what I love about collage: it makes me recognize brand new symbols that I wouldn’t have thought of on my own! I write my answer to the question and then I flip through my books/magazines in my collage box until I find an image that triggers the FEELING of some of the keywords from my written answer. In this case, I saw tea cups and that triggered the feeling of drinking tea with friends, so now I had a visual symbol of “tea cup = friends” and from there I invented more ways tea cups could tie into my answer. I wouldn’t have come up with that without randomly landing on a page with tea cups! THANKS, COLLAGING ❤️❤️❤️
