Important Seller Updates: Regarding Temu, Alibaba, and general sales!
Hey Everyone!
Today we have some fancy administration stuff in regards to our sellers!
We’ve been getting a lot of reports lately from Temu and Alibaba of Cinderwing3D dragons being sold without license. We have never allowed for these types of sales and our TOS (which you can read here) reflects that. Furthermore, we are officially banning selling through the platforms TEMU and Alibaba, in addition to all drop-shipping sites/platforms. It is important to us to protect the thousands of small businesses across the world who sell Cinderwing Dragons and we have issued takedowns left and right. We thank you all for the support and reports you’ve been sending in over email and Discord!
We will continue to fight these bad actors to the best of our ability!
That being said we’d like to also add some reminders! These are compiled from a list of questions we’ve been getting a lot of recently.
- You may NOT use Cinderwing3D photos for your own listings. If you are doing, so please swap them out for your own photos. We have never allowed this and many sites like Etsy are now cracking down on the use of “stock” photos. So this is as much for us as it is for you!
- You may NOT use OTHER user’s photos either. I cannot stress enough, please use your OWN photos.
- Your subscription allows you to sell PHYSICAL PRINTS, you may NEVER distribute STLs, 3MFs, or any of my digital files including Makerworld, Thingiverse, anywhere!
- This also includes paintjobs, which are done via 3MFs, you can share those with the community through the Cinderwing3D email (contactcinderwing3d@gmail.com), or Discord Tickets!
- Filling out the seller form is super important. It helps us be able to check your shops quickly.
- Patreon messages generally will not be answered, PLEASE use email or Discord for any reports or inquiries.
- You can sell physical prints of past models as long as you bought them! Files are only sold on Cults3D, MyMiniFactory, and Etsy. The important thing is that you are subscribed!

I was confused as number 2 in the Terms and Conditions states that the license gives you the right to use images. (which i didnt want to do, i just wanted to use a link to the Cults3D page or something to give people a general idea of what I would be printing, I attempted to clarify in the discord and was met almost Immediately with "the use of lawyers" instead of an explanation. It seemed very hostile so i left the discord.) Im still unsure of being able to send someone to a website owned by Cinderwing3D to advertise what models i print. To clarify, i do not have a website, nor do i intend to use the images from cinderwing3d to advertise "this is what im selling" if the use of a link to a Cinderwing3D site is permitted it would be made clear that the models in the pictures are NOT MY PRINTS.
As long as you are not using my photos on YOUR listings that's all I'm worried about. If you wanna direct folks to my site or cults or something that is fine.
I filled out the seller form when I joined last month, but how do I get the Authorized Seller Badge that I am supposed to display?
Hey there, the badge is attached to the last page of the form! If you missed it the first time around, just fill the form out again

If I'm selling at events locally do I need to fill out the seller form? If I sell online it's through a fb group.

i try to let you know when i see something like this. i see your design at a local grocery store with no authorized seller badge. idk if the individual has the rights as they are older models of yours. lmk if you need more info

I know I saw some being sold at a department store, are we allowed to sell to stores to sell to the public?

I'm a subscribed seller who loves what cinderwing creates and shearing her creations with the world and the smiles it gives people Neva gets old! I just wanted to check its ok that I add a message inside the dragon eggs I sell on etsy I use bamboo slicer to achieve this but I suddenly thought is this classed as changing the file in some way that may violate your rules?
Yep, you'd be right! Maybe a cute paper note would work instead?

I see ads all the time on Facebook and I comment on them telling people they're using stolen stls and whose they are, I also report the ad
Heck yeah! I will say there ARE legit sellers who use ads though! Wyvern's Hoard comes to mind, they are super legit!
I shop on Temu and Aliexpress alot, as I buy and resell enamel pins for comicons, and I see alot of 3D prints for sale on there. If we see listing with your files, do you want us to send the links to you, or would that even be helpful?
We got a list of over 100 already so more wont hurt!
Thank you for the information. I use my own photos and authorized seller print I've done as well in everything. I only post either on my own personal website or tiktok, facebook, and Instagram with directions on how to get to them. I don't sell on Etsy at all or any other platform~
I subscribe and sell but I've had my Instagram photos taken down of all my cinderwing stuff is there some kind of issue there? Photos were taken by me and even posted with the seller badge
Hey there, that wasn't us who did that! I'm not sure why that would be happening but I assure you it wasn't Cinderwing doing it I personally had a lot of trouble using Facebook marketplace for 3d prints cause facebook would take them down for all sorts of stupid reasons
Piracy is such a huge problem. I have had illustrations of mine stolen in the past few years and being sold by people opening POD accounts across various platforms. It is so time consuming to pursue to get the listings removed. I hope you can get the point across fast that you will not allow this, and they move away from trying to pirate your files.

Best place to get her files are here, etsy are her minifactory. I usually don't get anything that looks like hers unless I know it's her. You could end up with a lot of copyright files and most are more damaged. I'm just trying to help you locate her better.
I do not recommend Etsy. MMF is probably the most convinent in terms of things since we archive there. Etsy also doesnt seem to allow for file updates.
You mention paintjobs and 3MFs, are hand painted physical prints (that may not adhere to the colored 3MF file or your physical examples) not okay to sell? I'm only able to print one color at a time and like to do hand paints after the fact.

This is sad that this post has to be posted. I try and report all thst I see. Cinder3D I'm sorry this has happened to you. Be being a svg and drawer I know the feeling way to well that stuff get stolen.

Just to clarify, selling via our own domain and at markets in person is still ok correct? Just no 3rd party loop in?
In person markets, etsy etc. Just no temu/aliexpress/other bad actors is my read.

I wonder if there's some AI tool you can use to aggregate these type of listings, but exclude amazon listings for filament demos, for instance.
