🎤 Drop Your Take: Lupe Fiasco — The Cool
We’re finally getting to The Cool. 👀
Before me and Pops record, I wanna hear from the Lupe fans.
What should Pops know going into this one? Favorite song? Most underrated track? Where does The Cool rank in Lupe’s catalog?
And if there’s anything about the story/concept of the album that you think we should know beforehand without spoiling too much, put us on.
As always, I’m gonna grab some of the best comments and read them to Pops before we start.

Meh... I own it. Haven't revisited in in quite a while
I’ve been begging for this since I’ve subscribed to yall and I just appreciate yall. This album to me is flawless. Full of intricate bars. My favorite song from this album changes honestly but that 3-8 run is magical. I’m hype to hear Pop’s reaction to Go Baby lol.
Classic. Nothing more need be said.
One of the best albums of all time 👌
Certified classic that should be in a museum
Still his best album to date, and what's crazier is he has far more lyrical superior albums than this however imo as an ALBUM, The Cool is Lupe's magnum opus.
As a massive Lupe fan who was in high school around the time, I remember working at Cici’s pizza just to make sure I could buy this on the day it came out. Hip-hop, saved my life is about another hip hop legend of the 2000’s (won’t spoil it lol) but as someone who grew up in Texas that song sealed Lupe as a real one! It’s still my favorite Lupe album, which is tough cause he’s amazing now as he was then, but this IMO is one of the most important albums of millennial hip-hop fans. Fav Track: Fighters (emotional but beautiful), and I don’t know every other track lol! Underrated: Gold Watch (easy, that track is too nice and show that Lupe could really flex on his own level! lol) Other than Prince probably the most excited I’ll be for a reaction video lol
Easily my favorite Lupe album. First thing I loved about it was the way personified his song “The cool” and made a whole conceptual album of that track was incredible. My favorite song here changes every time I listen to so my top three are 1. Little weapons 2.The Coolest 3. Intruder alert
So the Cool is definitely a classic first off Second this album is about the story of Michael Young History (My cool young history, This is literally talking about all the things trying to be cool can do to you especially from a street perspective Best song probably is The coolest or Gotta Eat for me personally and Gotta eat has a double meaning Underrated song for the times we have been in since covid is streets on fire This is his 2nd best album 1st is Testuo and Youth Atlantic records are snakes in the grass so some songs will feel outta place especially the snoop dogg song but the Atlantic thing is a whole other story, sit back relax enjoy storytelling, deep lyrics and be cool lol
Classic 😍😍😍 I hope this is the start of Lupe Season. Dad’s gonna love this
