🦂 Drake’s Scorpion Won… Now Drop Your Take

Yeah, that 8 out of 10 is best track as even though it's "Kanye song" He's a better rapper than Kanye, bc even though they have the same allegations, Drake has always sounded like himself even to this day while Ye's writers make him sound like an avatar. Can agree that "Can't take a joke" is sooo catchy and futuristic, so always been underrated. The critique is far as it's just too long and the highs are some of his best work, but the lows are LOW (Jaded, anyone? such a petty way to do the gorgeous Jorja Smith) or (Rachet Happy Birthday, yuck!) It's a back middle of the rankings of his albums (Like 8th or 9th). But still better than alot of albums. If he trimmed the fat, it could be top 5, but still it's a time capsule for Pusha T's ghost for sure lol.

Make sure he knows who actually wrote some of the songs😎

I remember being in college when this came out and people were playing Nice For What endlessly. I was sick of hearing it which sucked cause I really like the beat. P.S. The Recession by Young Jeezy for next album

cant take a joke is the most underrated song and the beats on this album is extremely hard and good!

Best Song: 8 Out Of 10 Underrated Song: Peak I’m usually 50/50 when it comes to the critical reception of this album. Honestly, I wasn’t a huge fan at first. but before I knew it, this became the Drake project I revisit the most for an easy, casual listen. Thanks to the catchy hits sprinkled throughout the tracklist, it’s not even that hard to get through, despite how long the album actually is. (*Though, to be fair, maybe I got used to it so easily because I’m a total Chris Breezy stan lol😭😭) When you look at the Apple Music description for Scorpion and remember the timing—right after his feud with Pusha T—it feels like Drake was just having fun making this, while still flexing his talent and damage control skills to solidify his spot at the top. Overall, I think it’s the perfect representation of Drake balancing his commercial appeal with his artistry. But if I had to rank his discography, it’s exactly for those reasons that I’d place it right in the middle—not too high, not too low 🙏

I’d advise giving your dad a quick backstory. Many rebuttals on Scorpion towards beef with Kanye and Pusha T. Either hear the disses leading up to Scorpion or explain them to your dad for better listen - Infrared - (ghost writing allegation) Duppy Freestyle - (rebuttals back) The Story of Adidon (TSOA) - “child reveal” Pusha claims it was Noah 40’s girl who gave info. to Pusha’s camp about Adonis. Drake claims he trusted Kanye with info. about Adonis and believes he’s the one who told Pusha. All songs that rebuttal TSOA - Survival, Emotionless, 8 Out of 10, Mob Ties Underrated tracks - Elevate (shots towards Weeknd), Sandra’s Rose, After Dark Stats - 2 singles went #1 before Scorpion dropped. Plus, another after its release. God’s Plan (single) - #1 Nice For What (single) - #1 In My Feelings - #1

Album is 🔥 emotionless is my shit

This was his last GREAT album imo.

Before jaded let your dad know it’s based on jorja smith

holy W🔥🔥🔥🔥 been waiting on scorpion for years

the last 3 track run on side B It's for the books

Don’t matter to me with the ghost of Michael Jackson is fire. I’m upset still hits to this day. Nice for what is one of his best pop records ever. The whole project now that I’m thinking about it is arguably top 3

Album definitely didn’t deserve the criticism it got! One of my fav tracks is Finesse, and I feel like Don’t Matter to Me is very underrated
