October's Plans

I've been in a bit of a sci-fi mood recently (as can be seen with all the miniatures I painted last month over on the blog), and, as such I've started work on some new sci-fi terrain.

However, as you can see, I'm still in the very early design stages at the moment - but pictured above is the idea I have for some pipes (it doesn't sound very interesting when I put it like that - but hopefully the photo shows how it can add some interest to the gaming table).

So, if that's of interest, it might be worth stocking up on a few empty toilet roll tubes :)

I've also got it into my head that I want to have a go at making a sci-fi wall - where you can slot in your phone to act as a kind of display screen (you know - so you'd have a video or gif playing on the phone - like some folks do with magic portals - but in this instance it would be a sci-fi readout of some description).

However, rather than just making the terrain piece, I also want to have a go at making the video/gif as well - and I've started some work on part of that - which you can see HERE in this video.

Though, note that this is also a very early WIP - in the final image the planet/moon will likely take up a quarter of the screen - with the rest of the screen cycling through bits of random data (hopefully that makes sense).

So, that's what I'm currently planning.

It's been a while since I last did any sci-fi stuff... and while it's not as popular as the fantasy range, I know that there are a few folks out there that have been waiting for more - so hopefully this will be worth the wait :)
