Almost 10 years of the Print & Paste Dungeon
While I’ve obviously not been on YouTube for a decade, my own version of the 2.5D dungeon made it’s first appearance over on my blog back in September of 2014.
At the time, it would have only been seen by a very small audience (because, back then, I wasn’t brave enough to put myself ‘out there’ on YouTube for several years yet) – but I posted my results on the blog and in a couple of groups/forums, and there seemed to be a few people that liked what I was doing… and so I stuck at it.
Fast forward to 2018, and I (somewhat nervously) released my first YouTube episode (one where I reworked that first blog post into a short video)…
....and since then I haven’t really looked back!
So here I am, in 2024, with 20K subscribers, almost 100 paid Patreon supporters, and nearly 200 videos in my back catalogue.
I mean, that’s a LOT… and way better than I would have expected when I set out on this journey.

Anyway, like I say, the 17th of September will be the 10th anniversary of that very first blog post – and as such, I think I’m going to make a short video covering that journey – just to acknowledge it in some small way :)
However, I thought it might also be an opportunity to answer a couple of questions that folks might have regarding hobby/gaming related stuff (a basic Q & A if you will) – presuming folks think that would be worthwhile? (and assuming I get enough questions to make it an actual thing).
Now I can’t promise that I’ll answer all the questions (especially silly ones, or ones that involve badmouthing other people and/or aspects of the hobby) – and I’m not a particularly interesting person to boot – but I think it might be good to talk about a few different things, and offer any tips and tricks (or dumb opinions) where I can :) ).

So, if there are any questions that you’d like to ask, post them in the comments below… and also let me know if I can use your name in the video… for example:
“John asks: What is… blah… blah… blah…”
(or if you prefer anonymity, I can just say, ‘someone on Patreon asked:’ or similar – but you’ll need to let me know that in advance).
Anyway, that’s it for this post. Note that I have made this public to all followers here on Patreon (free and paid) – though, in the event that I get more questions that I had planned, I’ll give priority to paid members of course).
Thanks for reading… and thanks (in advance) for any questions!

Closing this now (as I'm finishing off the video). Thanks for all the questions folks! :) :) )
Benjamin asks: What software do you use for editing? How are your paper creations inspired by your RPG campaign or vice versa? What kind of tile system did you use before you created your own? Which of your PDFs on DriveThrough is your best seller? Which of your designs turned out most surprisingly? How do you store your creations?
Kenny asks, when playing do you prefer to run the game or be a player. Also what are some of your favourite D&D podcasts/table top groups? (Dungeons and daddies, nadpod and the adventure zone are mine)
No question from me, just sincere congratulations! Your content always inspires!
I've been a fan of all your dungeon tile work since your earliest days on EN World. You a remarkable creator who stands the test of time!
What is a trick/hack you wish you had know much earlier for creating/building paper craft terrain?
Any glues you really cannot recommend for papercraft?
When you play your games, is it as a GM or a player? Could you introduce us to your favorite PC/NPC?
I’d love to know more about the work that goes into designing your print and paste textures. What does your workflow look like? What tools and processes do you use? Would you ever consider doing tutorials on putting them together?
Nijntje asks: How do you consider the build difficulty/complexity? I noticed you facilitate a lot of different materials people can use, but standardising materials could also help with less steps in the build and thus making them more accessible. Love to hear your response. Just recently found your channel but I’m inspired by it. :)
Hi. What got you started on the artistic side of things, is any of your art hand drawn, or all digital design? Nick Darkk.
Congratulations! I love the idea of a celebratory video. I’d love to know how you got started in 2.5 D building. How big is your collection of terrain you’ve created? What things have you learned over the years that you wish you’d known when first starting out? Just to name a couple of questions. 😀
Fishman says you're great! Love how you always focus on accessibility for all and making terrain that can be used in multiple ways and ways you couldn't envisage too! Anywho, would love to hear what games you DM and how those settings influence your to do list for terrain videos
Hi Kris! I've been enjoying your videos recently. I was wondering how you go about designing dungeons? (how big it should be, placements of traps, number of rooms, etc). Thanks Kris!
