Most men I speak to want the same thing, even if they say it differently...

Thank you so much for your encouragement, Masha; it truly means a lot. Recently, I've been in a quiet season of rest and integration. It feels deeply necessary, especially after navigating both some profound inner healing and the recent loss of one of my closest family members. Honestly, I've gotten through it all better than I could have ever hoped for, and the sense of peace that follows is almost surreal. What you discussed in your voice note resonated so perfectly with where I am on this journey, and it inspired me to put some of these feelings into words. I feel comfortable sharing this reflection with you and with others here. For me, being this open is another step towards healing, a way of living with nothing left to hide. My deepest hope is that by sharing my own path, it serves not just myself, but the collective that I so dearly love. May this be a blessing. A Reflection: The Unfolding Wings A strange and unfamiliar season has begun to dawn within me. It feels as though, after a lifetime of looking out at a barren landscape, I can finally see the faint outline of a distant, verdant shore – a possibility of the authentic connection, the profound love, my soul has always yearned for. I can feel the potential for it, a quiet stirring in the air. And yet, this is the paradox that stills my hand: I feel no impulse to build a boat, no desire to begin rowing. I do not feel led to open up in ways that feel unearned, or to say more than what is simply true in the moment. I stand at the water's edge, watching the potential shimmer on the horizon, and I remain quiet. A deep part of me wonders: Is this stillness a profound trust, a sensitivity to the Spirit that guides me away from what is not right for me? Or is it a sign that I am simply not ready, that the armor from my long winter has not yet fully thawed? I wrestle with this. I know that connecting with most people drains my very spirit, my battery, as I try to force myself to converse and match an energy that is not my own. The small talk, the mundane, it feels like walking through thick mud. But then I remember the rare kinship, the friend with whom I can speak, and it’s like diving into the deep ocean. Everything flows. The hours vanish. I am not tired; I am energized. I am not just understood; I am seen. We skip the shallows and go straight to the depths, because that is our shared, native language. That is the connection I know to be real. Perhaps my hesitation, my inability to "play the game," is rooted in my past. I never learned the common language of dating, never formed those easy childhood connections that might have taught my heart how to bond naturally. In a profound way, I lost touch psychologically with that entire side of life. So now, as I feel myself resurfacing from the chrysalis of a fourteen-year solitude, I am, in this, a novice. I am just learning the strength of my own wings. And I realize, in this raw, new beginning, that I have nothing to trust but my own intuition – that quiet, fierce guardian that kept me safe for so long. In a world filled with so many passing souls, so many fleeting opportunities, this inner compass must be my only guide. I feel now that only the Source, only God, can bring someone into my life who will see past the silence, past the stillness, and recognize the landscape of my soul. I've tried so hard to be something I'm not, and I've learned that if they cannot see the real me, then I must trust that they are not the one, and I must have the strength to let that possibility go. This is the shock of re-emerging from the shell after so long. I am like a baby eagle, perched at the edge of the nest, feeling the wind, knowing it was made for the vastness of the sky but still uncertain of its own flight. The fall looks terrifying. But the call to become who I was always meant to be is stronger than the fear. So this is my prayer, my resolve. I will not force what is not flowing. I will honor the peace of my own solitude. But I will also honor this new, burgeoning hope. I will stand on this precipice, and I will trust the unfolding. I will trust the vision of that quiet, shared stillness under a tree. I will trust my own heart. And when the right wind, the true current of Grace, finally comes, I will have the courage to spread my wings – however new, however untested – and leap into the boundless sky.
This is a beautiful read Chad thank you for sharing.
