Takeru bludgeons Rodtang in fight of the year!

In a conversation that spans the past, present and future of Japanese kickboxing, of the possible demise of ONE Championship, of the philosophy of J-Kick's most passionate defender and, um, Jason Statham's oeuvre, I am re-joined by Dogman, previous guest and one of my favourite people in the space. Our mission: to talk about Takeru punching Rodtang to a fifth-round stoppage in a momentous performance to cap off arguably the fight of the year to date.

Whether we succeeded on this mission is up to you to decide. We both hope you enjoy joining us on it.

Kyle mate! How’d you get this dog out of his kennel to bark for hours again. I can’t speak a lick of French so the fight site guys are out the picture and this lad was the only person I could get quality kickboxing content out of. He thinks it’s a bad thing that 20 minutes turned into 2 hours but it’s quite the contrary! Love to hear what he has to say about kickboxing he just knows so much it’s a damn shame he stopped his pod

I know right, his podcast is such a godsend. But it should be back soon! Quality over quantity is never truer as it relates to ‘A Podcast About Kickboxing’

I shed a literal tear as I watched this in a taxi. Quite possibly the biggest and best win of Takeru's career. Of course, Chatri can jump up his own arse and die for all the shenanigans. I literally can't look at that repulsive man nowadays without wishing severe harm on him each time.

I can’t remember a fight result that made me feel this giddy. Lawler walking off into the sunset was amazing but Niko price was shot shot. This was Takeru slaying a dragon that one-tapped him like last year. I jumped for joy

Lawler-Niko is a great shout as a comparison! But in a way his career was already defined by his title run/comeback. For Takeru this was the big scalp he didn’t have (obviously J-Kick fans will appreciate more of his opposition, but on a big scale after THE MATCH it was only really Rodtang that could’ve given him that stature, name value wise)
